Spencer felt like a new person. He felt good about himself. His best friend finally knew how Spencer truly felt and he felt good knowing that Wyatt felt happy. He didn't know if he was the best for Wyatt, but he was willing to try it with him, after all. Wyatt was Spencer's best friend and love of his life. Going home was going to be the worst part of Spencer's life.Â
Going home was going to be hard for Spencer or it could be the same as it always was. He could just go home, go up to his room and act like nothing happened, or he could tell his parents the truth and move one step closer to being who he was and being proud about it and being Wyatt's boyfriend. He remembered the talk they had about how he Wyatt deserved better than him because he should have someone who would be out with him, not still hidden in the closet, like Spencer.
Spencer walked into his house and there his parents were at the kitchen table, talking about something Spencer didn't really care to notice. He walked over to them and made sure nobody else was around. He sat at the table and grabbed a banana, before peeling it and taking a bite out of it. His parents asked him the general questions of how he was and all that stuff. He just answered normally, but after they were done was when things became different.Â
There was a feeling scare running through his body as he sat there and asked his parents if he could talk to them, "Of course sweetie." his mother said. He knew that her voice wasn't going to sound like that much longer. Definitely not after they learned his secret. They kept waiting for him to speak. The next thing he knew, he was in tears. They were puzzled.Â
Eventually Spencer pulled himself together after five minutes. His parents were still confused, not sure what this was all about. "Mom.. Dad.. You guys love me right?"Â
His dad nodded and put his hand on his son's shoulder, "Of course, go ahead and say what you need to say."Â
Spencer breathed in heavily before speaking softly and slowly, "I'm still your son, but I just.. I'm not into girls." he said softly knowing there was no going back now. He was done. "I'm gay.." Both of his parents sat there in shock, not really sure to say to him. His father slowly stood up from the chair and looked down at the blonde boy who he wasn't going to claim as his son anymore, "Pack your shit. And get out of my house." He said sternly.Â
Spencer's lip quivered as he stood up, "Dad.. I am the same person who I was a couple of minutes ago when you said you loved me."Â
His father turned around quick and got in his face, "That was before I knew you were a monster." His mother stood up and the both of them walked out of the kitchen. That was it. His life was over.Â
Spencer walked up to his stairs and closed his door, looking around it. 'goodbye life." he said to himself as he grabbed the suitcase that laid under his bed. He went fifteen minutes without doing anything and his father came into his room. "Why aren't you packed yet?" He asked as he walked over to Spencer and grabbed him by the neck, shoving him over to the closet, "Pack!" He screamed and shoved him into the closet, "That's where you should have stayed." He punched him in the eye and walked out, "You have ten minutes!"
Spencer just laid there, not really understanding how that could have happened to him. He had tears flowing down his face only ten seconds later. He got up and grabbed his face, his eye in pain. He cried hard as he packed all of his clothes and everything he would need and walked out of his room, his mother and sister there. He swallowed hard and looked down, before walking out of the house and headed towards somewhere far away from the house. He got to the park and just sat on the park bench all night, laying down on it in order to go to sleep.Â
This was his life now. He was homeless. Spencer Bartolett wasn't a Bartolett anymore. He was just Spencer.Â
