Y'all everyone's talking about how Eight by IU feat Suga is the biggest link up of the Korean music industry because IU and BTS are both national treasures and how they're gonna wreck the charts and that's totally true but yoooooooo....
It's not even about IU and Suga's place in the industry. Literally the song is like beautiful in such a nostalgic, bittersweet way and the fact that it's basically IU's ode to dear friends that she's lost (I don't know how to be more specific about that respectfully so I'll just keep it at that). The way that Suga produced it to capture that sweet, innocent feeling with a subtle touch of sorrow and nostalgia to it, and got it with his rap too, and the way that IU put that same vibe into her voice and in the lyrics. Y'ALL read the lyrics! Look closer at the music video!!! I CRIEDDDDDDD I shed a tear and as emo a bitch I am I don't shed a tear to just anything but this morning I done CRIED.
It's too much. This song is gonna chart not just cuz it's k-industry's best coming together, it's cuz k-industry's best came together and gave us a song that shows us why they're the best. Now let me go cry as I listen to this song again lmaooooooooooooo.
