The Loki/Sylvie thing. It's gonna crash and burn.... Kinda.

No hate to anyone who likes them but the whole falling in love with yourself to gain self acceptance thing is very simplistic and kinda weird and I'm gonna try to give the writers more credit than that.

I think for the first time the two versions of Loki have found someone who can truly accept them. In all their facets and aspects. (Also they view each other as two separate people so I'm gonna say that it's understandable from that pov that they form this kind of attachment). I believe that because of this they project the love they want the most onto one another. But I don't think it's gonna last. Something is going to give. They will somehow betray each other and we'll see the Loki's once again being their own worst enemies. But after this it will be our Loki being left with nothing but himself after being rejected by the person who could understand him best. Who is symbolically also him...kinda. Giving a his self-loathing a physical form.

I think of it like two people who have similar issues getting together and calling it love because they think 'this, this is the only person I can be with the way I am. I understand you and you understand me. We're both broken in a way no one else is so we must belong together'.

To sum it up. Loving yourself and loving a varient timeline version of yourself are two different things and we will see the two Loki's figure that out. Loki won't learn to love himself by loving Sylvie. Loki will learn more about himself through Sylvie, and this will help him on the path to self acceptance. Sylvie isn't Loki's other half she's his mirror. And vice versa. They will have a love story but it won't end romantically.
