My mum started giving us Quorn burgers right at the beginning of high school because they were healthier, and i’d also tried food at my vegetarian friend’s house and i liked the food. The argument that vegetarian food was tasteless was beginning to lose strength and then when i was 12, a PSHE lesson showed us a video of meat-eating vs being vegetarian in which there was a pretty graphic 4 second clip of a cow being lobotomised for slaughter. That did it and my mind was made up, i was going vegetarian. And i did, much to the disappointment of my family and when they found their arguments didn’t sway me anymore they resorted to ‘its only a phase’.
