She followed him up and down the aisles and around the displays. Her eyes quickly scanned each book, looking at the title and immediately finding the summaries in the online network. This only counted for those she saw at eye level, leaving the other shelves of books disregarded. Science fiction, westerns, mysteries. It was hard to pick something that interested her when she, in fact, had no interests at all.
She held the book of fables and stories in her hands and looked at the cover, taking in the detail of the hand drawn pencil art and water coloring. Nothing of the cover revealed distinctly what the book was about, more rather, it displayed snippets of the stories within. There were mostly animals, with some people, and she wondered how on earth the two had anything in common as animals couldn't speak. Well, she knew one that could, but he wasn't exactly a normal cat. It was a good place to start, considering the plethora of novels a bookstore had to offer. She continued her walk behind him when they passed a display and she paused. One of the newer items was a book on botanicals. Opening up to a random page, she saw there were illustrations of various outdoor plants and flowers with snippets of information about each scawled on the side. It almost seemed to mimic a sort of journal. She flipped the page, then another, and another.
"I've never seen these flowers in the city. Do they.. really exist?"
