In other news...have any of you read this one by A S Byatt? It’s been languishing in my to-be-read pile for a few years. She’s not a light read(by any stretch) but this is set during one of my favorite periods, late 19th century, and is the antithesis of typical Victorian behaviors. Instead it’s the world of the Fabians, Theosophists, and William Morris devotees, with notes of dark fairy stories, mystical creatures, and eccentric artists and writers thrown in for good measure.
