Off top I’m salty that PS4 players will get an early release before PC, and cautiously optimistic that they’ll work out a deal for Xbox One because they haven’t explicitly ruled it out yet (to my knowledge). I think it’s a pretty interesting concept if they’re able to execute it and it definitely has a ton of potential for updates down the road to add more features (I’m thinking of Minecraft as an example, look how complicated it is now compared to the alpha release). I feel like this is the type of game that will have a good sized playerbase initially that will quickly dwindle down to a much smaller but stable and loyal playerbase. Maybe this kind of open world sandbox procedurally-generated game will become a more successful genre much later down the road, but this looks like an essential and exciting first step towards that future.
