It's all a right kerfuffle.....
Door from living room to the hole that will be the kitchen only opens half way due to the situation of the acro on said kitchen ceiling, which makes going in and out with food, washing baskets, whilst at the same time removing crocs and putting on slippers, a juggling act with guaranteed profanities attached.
The temporary membrane on the kitchen roof, supposedly weatherproof for a month, whilst waiting for the new roof to arrive, appears to have developed a leak during today’s constant rain.
Cooking anything that won’t go in the micro, has turned into an assault challenge, diving between the oven in the shed, the temp sink in the temp kitchen, through the half opening door to the living room without it going cold or sliding onto the floor in a gloopy mess.
I swear I will never complain about my new kitchen!!!!
Trying to get everything that needs washed and dried done before the washing machine has to come out. The airer is almost full, the tumble dryer is working overtime and to cap it all off I’ve just washed two pockets full of tissues in one of my dark loads 😩
Still….mustn’t grumble, we are warm, dry, fed and watered and nobody so far has died in the furtherance of cottage renovations. We will dine by the tv tonight with the fire burning, a glass of Rioja and plan our next move. In between we have both rejoined twitter to follow the surreal and scary events unfolding via the medium of Donald Trump’s early morning deranged rantings …..‘Tremendous’…to read about all the 'bad people’ 'bad hombres’ ….
Real life is most certainly stranger than fiction right now.
In the middle of all this Steve is trying to calculate all the materials we need to proceed and how best to source them when some companies want to charge £30 delivery as we are so remote.
