So when Deepika raised her voice against the much infamous TOI article i was one of those persons who praised her.I feel Indian journalism is going down the drain these days.Headlines of leading newspaper articles are about an actress wardrobe malfunction or carries a picture of her barely clothed.Recent article in the very same newspaper came out stating how Bollywood has more nudity than abroad ! I have never really liked the way people have depicted women in Bollywood. I still cant forget an incident in which in my cinema hall when the 'Kamli' Song got over a group of voices together shouted "Paisa Vasool".Which was really disgusting ! 

So well my point isn't that,so when Deepika raised her voice against that issue i was really proud of her.But today i was disappointed when i saw her music video 'Lovely'.I have never appreciated item songs because women are barely dressed but the male actors are fully dressed ! Im not against short dresses.What i say is about how a female is depicted in an Item song throwing herself literally.

So i was saying that at one place deepika shouts about women empowerment and then the next place she herself features in an "ITEM SONG" as labelled by people then what should i understand by this ? Why cant a women be also well dressed in a song ? why cant a women also wear a sweater and not a saree in the COLD winters of Switzerland ? Why does a women only has to be there to add glamour in the male oriented movies (eg-Katrina in Dhoom 3).When will women in Bollywood be given equal status as heroes. There are only few women oriented films which come in Bollywood rest all are male dominated.When will it be that women will be stopped shown as a person ONLY TO get SAVED by the HERO !It really surprises me that deepika who talks about women empowerment herself does songs  like these because aren't Item songs demeaning to women ? And the best part is that these items songs are directed by or choreographed by women themselves.Irony much ? I hope one day female actresses raise their voice and stop being just a glamour to movies ! That they refuse to do a role which gives them nothing but only a item song.I hope actresses in Bollywood can be appreciated the same way male actors are literally worshiped !
