This post made me too sad so I decided to unearth Spector again.
Fight for the Sparks
Amelia dangled her feet over one of the holes in the multiverse. She made that in a moment of weakness and yet she didn't have it in her to regret it. The second smallest skeleton slowly made his way to her. Still smoking from his magic bone, staring down at the hole opening to his au. His soul was still covered in Limos' tar, clenching the last bit of hp still left. Tear wasn't visible but they were really far up. Spector stepped beyond the edge but he didn't fall. He just kind of stood like if he was walking on glass or plastic. “Annoying isn't it?”
Spector scuff before sitting by her side. Making her smaller at the same time. “I am too tired for that.”
Amelia stared until she saw the ropes dangling from Spector's soul. The only one that didn't fray at all was the one with Tear. Linked it seems. The anchor to your home, the one that will always remember you. Lucky! “You will get used to it. It will feel normal and the rest like sparks.”
Spector sighs as he looks at what haunted Tear among the other ghosts that built everyone's past. Rage built into his soul as his negative hp started to rise. “He took over my au and he acts like he isn't wanted?”
Amelia scuffed in turn. “He is wanted, he just can't see it. Why not give him something? The gift will pass.”
Spector rolled his eyelights before mumbling to himself while thinking about what to give. “What does he even like?”
“Snow, he likes snow.”
Spector immediately showed pure annoyance before drawing something on the notebook he now always had. When the paper landed on the snow, a spirit slowly floated to give him one pokeball. Really? “Thank you, you can go back home now.” The spirit nodded before floating away. Spector let the pokeball fall for Tear. A Snom appeared in Tears arm with a note Amelia remembered: pets are good when you need to feel wanted. From Spector
The second smallest Skeleton left by teleporting after that. Leaving Amelia to smile as his hp rose just a bit more. “You know you could just allow them to be friends. Like true friends?” Her creator floated around anxiously “It would be easier right?”

So I got hit with inspiration and I love making stories for people that want more. It also lets me honed my skills. So here it is @marble-birdie . I can't wait to see more of your work. Also hope this little story spurs you on to continue to draw.
First Suspicions
Amelia could come back less and less, Nightmare was onto her. Okay he didn't remember she existed but clean plates and clean statues always woke his senses. In a sense he was more remembering the crumbs she left on her path. What was once a one hour trip, was now a full month of simply watching. Even bringing a member of his gang to make sure.
But when he wasn't there Amelia was going to make the most of it. She had placed a game of hangman, not really a thing you can cheat on. “A?” Amelia wrote on the piece of paper.
A___A
Something was making Dream self-conscious. “What is it Dream?”
She had spent enough time with him to know how his memory self would react to certain things. Like how she could almost feel him reach for the cape around his neck. “My brother is with really scary people.” The murder time trio are scary. Even if this multiverse had no real danger. Their designs weren't made to be cuddly. “I think he is mad at you Amelia.” Amelia had to hide the slight tremor in her hand as she heard her name. But of course he remembered, she was right in front of him. It always took a moment though.
Amelia smiled instead as she kicked her feet in the air. “Well of course he's mad. His friend Horror took all this time cooking beautiful cakes. And I keep eating it. Since he doesn't know me, he is scared for you. It might also explain his scary friend. No thieves allowed.” Amelia brushed away stray dirt on Dream's shoulders. “Anyway ne-” The boss is worrying a lot about this statue. Neutrality? Someone meditating? The boss is suspicious of what? “Oops gotta go early, Dream.”
As Amelia packed her things as fast as possible, Dream's memories became more panicked. “Are you scared of my brother? swear he isn't bad. I want to tell him how sorry I am. Please stay, I need you to stay.” Poor kid, she couldn't really blame him. Nightmare himself couldn't answer directly. He could guess but not to the extent she can. So Amelia hugged Dream statue as much as possible.
“Look I am not leaving for long. I just can't meet him right now.” She could hear Killer's memories by his side. If she didn't want to traumatize the kid, she couldn't stay. “You won't miss me, I swear.” Amelia got up, did a little bit of cleaning before running away at the second memories of the village came back muted. A lot of ruins were still standing and they were a constant reminder.
Amelia ran until she was hiding in a basement. The little place was cleaned with a sleeping bag and a small campfire in the corner. She didn't want to leave Dream fully alone. And to be honest she couldn't really leave either way. Without outside help she is like any other incode. She just needed to wait a couple minutes so that space and time would just turn a blind eye.
♤♤♤
Amelia drew on the walls of the basement. Using Crayola colors to spice up her corner. She didn't want to sleep, she would lose sight of the present. She had a kid to care for now. “Boss, I didn't find anyone.” Killer's memories felt like a cat on your shoulder, demanding your attention or the view cleared. “Keep searching, someone carried dirt everywhere around here.” Nightmare felt more like your own shadow, it didn't need to demand much, he was a fact of life and nature. They were upstairs, she just needed to stay quiet. Killer will hear her and she doesn't want him to react to a human. Dream could probably feel such a strong traumatic response from the village.
Amelia kept drawing, deciding to depict a new tree of feeling for each basement she camped in. The first one was… well the first, the one who could give both positivity and negativity, or what she called the origin of envy. Right now she was drawing the tree of feeling in a multiverse where Ink was on Nightmare's side. She didn't want to focus on the specifics. It was a tree with both. “Check the basement.” Sh** Amelia rolled her sleeping bag and smothered the small campfire. She also made sure no sounds could be heard.
Before Killer found the door for the basement Amelia hid in the shadows on all fours at the lowest point of the ground. Folding herself like a contortionniste to hide in a barrel filled with decaying fruits. Such a waste of food. When Killer got inside he actually paid attention to the layout. Loyalty, she didn't want to search for specifics, but those were loyal memories. A tree again? It's not done though. They might still be here. Kill, fight, spare. Killer's memories shook into a dazed fog. No, focus on what the Boss told you. Footsteps approached but eventually stalled. Please tell me they aren't dumb enough to hide in there. It must have smelled really bad.
A wave of darkness filtered through the basement making the atmosphere a bit more suffocating. “Found anything?”
Two sets of memories showed Killer point the wall with the unfinished drawing as Amelia tried to focus on the worm debating leaving, in front of her. “Just this and the campfire. They seem to be either bad at drawing or really young.” Memories of Chara flooded his mind, how saddening.
Nightmare's and Killer's memories showed the former looking around growing in suspicion. So it's not a village settling, probably a stray. Another wave of darkness crashed but Amelia counted a thousand boats in her head. No footsteps were heard. So Amelia lifted the lid off the barrel slowly before leaving it. She first decided to finish the drawing before leaving for Dream again.
Dream was admittedly surprised to see her come back eating her way through a barrel of decaying fruits. “I don't waste food. Also I am technically replanting seeds." She had to learn to be more messy with how she ate.
It took way too long for Amelia to have enough space to stop screaming and trying to bite off his neck bone. Mainly because of Horror Papyrus keeping her in his arms. “You are the one that made them try the idea aren't you? What's the point of me coming back even? Couldn't I just be left with good memories for once?”
Ink actually giggled. “Oooh so it has been great. To be honest I am happy you are here to spend time with us you know. You will be able to meet my other friends.” He wasn't listening at all.
Amelia growled harder trying to pounce again but Papyrus was keeping her from doing anything. Amelia soured hard. “I have met better.”
Ink laughed again. “Of course you did, you have so many interesting stories.”
Amelia wished he was easier to annoy. She looked back towards Horror Papyrus feeling her soul pleading to shatter. He wasn't even able to fully realise what was going on. “Why did you do that to him? He is kind and comforting. Mean at times but not unable to react.” She wished she could eat his spaghetti just one more time.
Ink jumped on Papyrus back as they walked away. “He is still that, I just gave him a story.”
Amelia felt her heart tightening at that. “Stories are born in context.”
They went through another portal to what felt like a normal if mundane village. It felt fake. “I made this place for you, since you get overwhelmed easily. No memories, just us.” Amelia felt so insignificant for a moment she was still being seen as a pet project or something.
“Why though? Why even bother, I am not even a story worth telling so just leave me alone, let me make it boring so I can leave and not have to know that if I wasn't with Dream that day I would have been made to suffer way worse.”
Amelia wanted to cry a bit but she didn't. It wasn't important, she wasn't like other characters. No stories would be different if she was in them. Horror Papyrus let her sit down on a bench and Ink sat by her side while Horror Papyrus sat to his side without real memories. It hurts even more than if he just hated her. Ink just kind of shrugged. “Yeah it's why I gave the idea. Angst is so fun.”
Amelia wanted to rip off his lower jaw so much. “Okay but like why am I even here then?”
Ink paused to think before reading the notes in pink again. “Angst, you are here for the angst.” He read further as his memories showed aus with happy faces and pacifism.
Amelia felt her hair burst into flames. “I am a battery? This is how I matter here, I am a battery until they get bored? That's their plan?”
Ink just kind of shrugged. “Yup. Well until they find what Nightmare's plan would be. Have fun.”
Amelia fell through Ink's portal.
Amelia landed in snow, Snowdin's snow. So she just took a moment. “This scenario is dumb.”
So this took a while, I rewrote it and kind of fell asleep. I didn't really wake up but I wanted to finish it. No real fight for now or a meeting between the two SkeleHorrors (horror skelebros) @marble-birdie . I am sorry for that aha. I did decide to male Dream less Self Sacrificial and more duty bound though. Mainly because Amelia can tell him exactly what is going on. Emotions are somewhat vague without proper context. Also yup Amelia is now the little sister of the twins!! It's canon because I said so 😝
Protector and Archivist
Amelia sometimes liked just being able to let her mind rest with Dream. To just meditate while huddled together. It felt sort of grounding. It also let her be able to just stop thinking. “Dreamtale? Cool name, wonder what their story is!”
Amelia sat up immediately as she tried to figure out where that came from. As Amelia walked her way out on all four. Mainly to not shake the shelter too much. It had rain that night and Amelia didn't want to feel the water anywhere close. It always felt like hair and kelp. When she was close to the end of the stump she got up and tried to look around. Wondering if Ink was here. It could have been a memory she didn't have time to ignore.
Now that she knew about memory rope she decided to use it. The memory from before went from Dream's statue to the ruins. Or maybe past this point. So while Amelia followed the rope she made sure to side step all the puddles.
Somewhere far off in the ruins she saw him. Ink looking around with wrapt attention. Amelia frowned wondering if that was supposed to be the day. The day when Ink would free Dream and take him away. Well most multiverses did that, some didn't. Some had Ink come into existence way later, her creator had made one of those. Some Dream saved himself and then joined Ink. One of those had been a horrible experience though. Nightmare was so much worse in that one.
Ink looked back towards her with different punctuation taking over his eyelights. “Who are you? I never saw your type of variant.” Amelia was way too aware of this. Her creator wasn't as possessive as before, but she would never be widespread enough to matter. Even if she was just a soul variant and became a guardian of the likes of Core Frisk and Ink. They weren't popular enough for this to take off.
“The name's Amelia, what are you doing here?” Amelia tried to inch closer. She wanted to make sure Ink would leave. If she could make one multiverse have the twins work together for the betterment of the multiverse. That would be cool.
“I am the protector of the multiverse and guardian of creativity. Why wouldn't I be here?” Ink went closer stepping into puddles like they were nothing.
Amelia frowned slightly; she really wanted him to leave; he was way too careless. “You aren't needed, Dream can free himself.”
Ink squinted as new eyelights formed, his smile grew larger. “Ooh he can?.” That would shure be fun.
Amelia felt somehow in physical danger. But then again she was right in front of a puddle. “Yeah he just needs to.”
Ink smiled harder. “Does he care about you?” If he cares he would want to join and not be jealous. Nightmare sped through the forest trying to finally end this nuisance of a squid life. To finally free the one he so ruthlessly toys with. Ink was laughing but he was also so very confused. Was he jealous?
Ink always had a huge gap between him and others. That came with the territory and Amelia understood that. Ink loved creations more than anything. But that was it, characters were characters. Amelia believed them when one said they cared. It was just so hard to relate when you no longer have free will. “I mean probably why?” Liquid dropped from the sky to hit her directly. Red hair made of kelp dragged her further down as she felt each joint being tangled in more hair. Amelia tried to swim but the yellow light at the bottom of the ocean slowly came to life. Jagged rock extending for a yellow light to appear. “Water is my domain, I will stop at nothing to one day free all monster kinds. Starting with your soul, human.” Amelia couldn't breath, couldn't swim, she was sinking fast down the abyss. Until the hand of Aliza grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her out.
Amelia shivered hard as she started at the small lake while shivering. The yellow eye stared further still. For the rest of her childhood the eye remained. In the bathtub, in puddles, in melting snow, ice, in the sink, in a cup of water. Her soul made of flames and memories turned purple as spider webs took it over. Next thing she knew she was thrown back to the shelter.
Amelia made sure to land on her feet, her legs being the strongest part of her body. She still broke a few bones when she hit the ground but the flames took care of that. Dream's memories ran to her immediately. “Miss Amelia, are you okay? What is going on?” Before Amelia could talk the same strings pulled her away from him in the mandible of a giant spider, Cupcake.
Muffet, Farm Muffet to be exact Muffet took all the spiders and other spider monsters she could. Any to be able to get through the portal for safety. Her last look behind was a black bone skeleton screaming erratically as he destroyed everything his strings touched. She jumped on her pet's back “Another human fufufu, I hope you aren't going to be too scared.” Amelia looked down towards the shelter where Dream's memories was looking upward in distress.
Amelia wasn't going to let him think that could be his fault. Most Dreams in moments of stress were self-destructive to a fault. “I don't remember having a past with knives.” “Aww. What a completely irrational fear to have!”
Farm Muffet laughed even more as Cupcake let go of her and started to try and impale her with one of its many legs. Amelia was faster but it was worse with water around. She was able to pass through lava because of how much she remembered at once. But the feeling of water just shot through all the others. She didn't want to freeze up, she didn't want to become an easy target. So Amelia ran and dodge, cutting it close several times. She forced herself to smile so Dream didn't think she was in danger. She was having fun, a lot of fun.
Amelia ran until it finally happened, she felt water from a puddle splash against her exposed legs. Hair and kelp slowly crept around her joints forcing her to get deeper into the water. The puddle didn't have a bottom, why didn't it have one. All puddles surrounding her opened to let yellow eyes shine. A leg impaled her through her chest and soul. It would kill normal humans, forcing a reset. The flames burst forth as Amelia tried to not show how much pain she was going through. Memories were leaking from her soul like blood would. “Amelia-”
Amelia raised her hand as Farm Muffet memories turned to pure horror at what she did. A human with a more powerful soul would have reset already, she didn't dodge puddles to make it more interesting? Determined and Braved Humans would have done that. Amelia had a passionate soul though. It was weak and only fuel; forced to be the only thing that could keep memories from spilling over everywhere. “Dream I'm okay we were just playing.”
A spilled memory hit the ground for a moment the world around them changed. Amelia had mistakenly mimic Nightmare pose and excuse. Bullies had found a way to make their abuse look like play for kids who were born alone. Dream's memories staggered backward as Amelia felt the leg lift her upward. The pain got worse, it was so painful, the fire burned through her soul and wounds like fresh skin. When Amelia fell to the ground amidst the puddles. Red hair pulled her deeper in. She grabbed her soul to keep it from spilling out. The few drops had already cracked the surface letting the white void shine underneath.
She couldn't let that happen, she didn't want the multiverse destroyed just for her to have her way. Not again, the people of her creator's world downright hated her. Her memories had destroyed their multiverse. She couldn't do that here either. Farm Muffet, to give her credit, tried to call for Ink so he could fix the damage. But he didn't come, nobody ever came if it was to help her. She was the holder of all memories and if she broke it was her fault, always just her fault. It burns so much. Lava didn't burn this much, memories eating through her soul, fire eating through her wounds. Those burn so much worse.
Amelia felt skeletal hands wrap themselves around her hands as they filtered magic through it. “Amelia, let's be brave together okay?” Amelia looked up to see Dream, the actual Dream filling her soul with positivity.
Somebody came
Dream did come in her time of need. For a moment she ignored everything else and hugged Dream as her soul went back inside her. “Don't leave me please, I won't break, I won't be mean.” Dream held her close, hugging her as much as possible.
Dream felt taller than her right now, she was always going to be smaller than a sans no matter what age. Unless her creator said otherwise. They weren't here though.
A tentacle shot Farm Muffet away as she was catched by Ink in the nick of time. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE INK!!!!” Nightmare was mad, Nightmare looked about ready to tear the floor in two.
Ink tapped his chin once or twice as he let Muffet stand by his side. “Oh I just wanted to look around. Then your brother's friend had such an amazing idea. I thought how good of a surprise it would be if you found your brother playing. I even made sure not to bring Papyrus or Toriel for that!” Why does he look so mad? It was fun and that girl isn't dead. We are just playing right?
Amelia looked by Dream. He didn't know about Amelia's phobia, it was just a mistake Nighty should understand, right? It's not like those villagers. He is so mad though. Before looking towards Nightmare who was now in front of them is tentacle lashing out. He has the gall to come to my home, hurt people in my care and call it play. Dream is terrified because of him. Amelia looks like she is about to faint and he calls it fun. Why does that stupid Muffet even stay around him?
Amelia stared towards Muffet. I am not supposed to kill or destroy, I nearly did both, why couldn't I see this girl wasn't gonna survive this? She had to do something to help isn't it. She inched towards Dream's ear canal. “Your brother is scared that you got hurt. Ink thought we are playing and you are right about Muffet”
Dream nodded, “Nighty, we are fine it was an honest mistake. But Ink, I think you should leave. It was fun to play but now we gotta go home.”
Ink nodded like it made perfect sense before leaving with Muffet and Cupcake. “Muffet, I would like to play Cupcake one day?” Amelia just needed to say it. She didn't really mean it but she didn't want Farm Muffet to hate everything about herself. She smiled and nodded before leaving.
Nightmare ran to their side as he finally realised he could see and touch his brother. “You don't know how long I waited for this day, Dream.” He didn't shed a tear but his voice was so low it was just about the same.
Dream openly cried as he brought him into the hug. “I was waiting for just as long.” Nightmare carried the both of them in his arms as they teleported to his castle. Where a green room with nothing but glass made the walls. The floor was one big mattress and the lamps were made from luminescent fungus.
Nightmare let Amelia and Dream settle, hugging the other still. Amelia was absolutely drenched and needed to be brave with Dream for a while longer. “Since I learned you were still there. I decided to make you a room. I was actually going to take you both here before Ink came in.”
I am starting to really have an idea of the plot in mind by now. So sadly this will come to an end eventually 😢. So I hope you will like the journey @marble-birdie also the timeline since the story started is like 2 to 3 months. Amelia as no real sense of time.
Also for people who have been reading but do not interact (yes I see you lol) this is a bit of a showcase to Amelia's abilities. I love the idea of memories resembling ropes. Small fabric twisting together to form something more solid. Also it comes from the idea of rope fraying at the seems.
An idle brain
Invite the Hope in
Amelia played hangman with Dream's memories for a while. They were actually getting more harmonious as time went on. Amelia let him dictate her hand to feel like he was writing too. It was the best she could do after he helped her so much.
Most days were simple. Nightmare came every 3 days to read a book. Amelia had enough food to share and more. So most days were just staying around talking. They talked about the weather, clouds and much more. They talked until frankly they had nothing else to talk about. Well without going into traumatic event no one wanted to relive. So they would draw with the same hand, sunbathe, play hopscotch and frankly just being kid together.
Well that was until Dream ask “Can we test how far I can go with you. Before you I could only see through the statue and not do anything. But with you I can walk, jump and dance. Can we try please!?” Amelia nodded as she took the memories of his hand. It wasn't so bad if they could go together.
Amelia walked one step at a time making sure Dream didn't act differently. To be honest he didn't. They just realised the further he was from his body, ropes started to appear. It was extremely loose so Amelia wondered if that was the built in limit. She never had the opportunity to test that before. So Amelia tried to touch it.
Immediately the world changed but not like when she got lost. Dream was picking berries; they weren't any repeat of others. Just him filling a basket of berries and other plants. Amelia pulled away from the rope and she still saw clearly. “Wow.”
Dream's memories looked a bit panicked, probably because he saw her lost in memories before. “Miss Amelia, are you okay?”
Amelia nodded, “Memories aren't something I ever really tested and not many as my particular brand. I also never had the chance to test this out.” Amelia held Dream's hands for a moment. “The rope I see is your memories, only yours. You picked a lot of strawberries.”
Dream had a moment of realisation as he looked at his own ropes. “So it is controllable?”
Amelia stared at the same rope. “Yeah, I guess it is. I think I just get so overwhelmed by just how many there are.”
Dream smiled a bit more as they walked closer to the stumps. “Does that mean we can visit a lot more now?” Amelia nodded as the rope disappeared the closer they were. Making them immediately find another direction.
They didn't get close to the ruins, instead they tried to find other ways to pass the time.
A long time passed of just having fun. Amelia let herself hope a bit. Maybe this time she won't disappear because of her creator, maybe they got bored of her and left for good. Maybe this time she could call this place her home.
At the edges of Amelia's memories, she tried to ignore that Telltale Ink had been looking over this very au.

I finally did the Nightfalls chapter @marble-birdie
So this is the fluffiest the moment in the fic. All to help the memory of spaghetti stay in the front of her mind a while longer. I like to imagine this is an exception. Anywhere else and Amelia would have had a really different experience with Nightfalls. But for now, for Dream's sake. They get to enjoy a simple dinner. Also it's a good way to celebrate a Papyrus memory.
A Moment Of Rest
When Nightmare came again Amelia was holding the hand of Dream's statue. She tried to gain some courage from such a small act. “I was wondering.” A skeletal hand made of tar backhanded her across the face. “It's about the smell of my scarf.” skeletal hands wrapped around her arms and forced her to kneel as Nightmare slowly burned the scarf. “I need help.” A low rumbling closer to the laughter of a dragon. “Help a human child? You aren't even important enough to be remembered.”
“Help regarding the smell? Did it faint?” his voice barely rose above laughter and sly mockery. Amelia nodded anyway, trying to focus on the present. “Anything more specific?”
“It smelled like spaghetti and was made by someone who listened to me.” Why did his smell have to fade in the same numbing noise?
Nightmare hummed to himself for a moment as Dream's memories made sure to squeeze her hand through the stone. “I'll see what I can do.” He left after that.
It didn't take long. Amelia got the gist from everyone's memories when they came back. Nightmare had made an extensive briefing. No fighting in front of his brother, they will act like he is there. Horror had accepted the second he heard that a child had lost her appetite. Killer just kind of followed, already being on his shoulder. While Dust was legitimately wondering if his boss had a hoarding problem. They were also curious, they didn't really get the chance to look at the statue or anything really. The only reason they were even allowed in was to deal with intruders.
Amelia made sure to tie her scarf around her arm and wear the oversized hoodie around her waist. She also hid the heart locket under her shirt. All of them had to deal with the scars of losing a brother and she didn't want to open old wounds. She also just really didn't want to fight in front of Dream.
Horror had first entered the au with every cooking necessities. While Dust brought camping equipment with the help of his Gaster blaster. Killer was in charge of bringing napkins. Explained the tentacle leach.
Nightmare went to the statue first mainly because Amelia was hiding behind it with Dream's memories. “They know how you look and they don't mind. Also Dream you are equally invited.”
Amelia and Dream's memories held each other's hand as they went out of the small shelter. Amelia felt herself burn in two different ways as the blaster beamed her down. Dust stared towards her, I hope she isn't like Frisk, the human child in question overlaid his silhouette without any expression. Only walking forward. Amelia shook her head until the memory left. The ghost of the papyrus head floated around Dust as he gave her a wave. Amelia waved back at this. Dust didn't miss that of course but focused on helping Horror set things up.
“Yeah your age was no excuse!” “They are either really bad at drawing or really young.” Amelia growled as Killer smiled like a cat towards her.
Dream memories stepped closer. So Amelia decided to talk instead of just biting the cat lover. “I wasn't really in the mood to learn that skill.” A draft of her did, but not her.
When “You're the best Uncle Bullseye!” Horror looked her way Amelia forced her gaze down. It was way too personal even if he had a cyan eye and not a red one.
“Oooh I recognize this expression, you are thinking something embarrassing right?” Killer punctuated the last words by making his fingers walk on her scalp.
Dream memories looked her way a bit curious too. “About Mister Horror?”
Amelia growled against her will again. “Please don't.”
Nightmare started to smile as he went closer to Horror. He better not. “Don't take her reaction personally. She thought she saw her uncle.”
Everyone looked at her with a varied version of a sipping tea expression. Dust even elbowed Horror. “Come on, go say hi to your niece.”
Amelia wanted to hide so hard. Dream memories chuckled as Killer started to pile on it. “Look at how embarrassed she is, come on Horror, spend time with your niece.”
Amelia wanted to crawl under the dirt now. “Don't be shy, miss Amelia, I am sure your uncle would love the company.” The worst part is that she had to repeat it. Making everyone even more insufferable.
When everything was installed, Killer went to cut the vegetables while Horror boiled the water and cooked the meat. Nightmare was sitting by Dream's memories side (Amelia told him where to sit) with a book to read. While Amelia herself played hangman with the ghost of Papyrus while translating Dream's memories. She loved the feeling of togetherness. The idea that she voiced her concerns and they were heard. Dust also seemed to love that Papyrus could hang out with someone else now.
For a moment Amelia could actually feel Papyrus, the one who gifted the scarf, come back stronger. His gloves pushed the blinding white memories away from her. The spaghetti sauce was almost done, so did the pastas. It felt nice to be a kid for once.
I hope the positivity isn't hurting the boss. Amelia stood up abruptly as she realised the same thing. She didn't know where the memory was from. But she did make sure with Nightmare. Who was reading a book to his brother's memories.
Nightmare immediately felt the anxieties and simply shook his head no. “There's enough negativity in the multiverse to resplendish me. One good day with my brother and my gang. Isn't something you should worry about.” Amelia nodded as she went back to play with Ghost Papyrus.
Around dinner time everyone was seated. Even if Dream couldn't eat he was simply given an empty plate. Dust was in front of her on the other side of the table. When he asked. “Where's the scarf?”
Horror had just filled Dust plate and went to Killer who took the time to speak. “What scarf?” When the food hit his plate he immediately started to eat.
Nightmare was served next as he put his book to the side. “Amelia was given a red scarf by a Papyrus, she assumed that wearing such a garment would wake up old wounds.”
Amelia nodded as Horror imitated serving Dream. “Thank you Mister Bullseye.” Could people stop using this nickname now? Horror chuckled as, with the help of Amelia, he played with Dream's head a bit.
Dust frowned a bit. “Well it depends, did you kill him?” A cold washed over the table as Amelia was already using her feet to pin Dust against his chair as she balanced it to not fall.
Amelia's hair burst into flames as her irises spiraled towards the black parts of her eyes. “What did you just imply?!”
Nightmare used his tentacle to lift Amelia out of the way and sit her back down. Killer started laughing to calm the tension. “Heck yeah I love your style. Dust you remember what you did to me on our first dinner?”
Dust frowned but smiled a bit. “It was really efficient training that day.”
Horror gave Amelia her part as he made sure to talk to both her and Amelia. “Don't take it too personally. He felt vulnerable for a sec. And what is dinner time without a bit of fighting?”
Horror served himself last and started to dig in which Amelia happily copied. The more she ate the more Papyrus’ memories stayed defined. So much even if she couldn't taste much or feel much. She could hear clearly, see the present and smell a homemade plate.
As the night set in and Dream's memories needed the rest. Amelia helped pack everything. “Thank you.”
Dust shrugged before leaving through the portal, Killer smiled as he brought some of the equipment. “He says you're welcome by the way.”
Horror left after making sure they would have enough food for months and they wouldn't go bad. He then waved goodbye.
Nightmare stayed behind a bit longer. “You did well to hide your scarf. They are still very dangerous people.”
Amelia nodded mainly to herself. “Most of them are. I hope it didn't set them back.”
Nightmare shook his head no, once. “You didn't. Being seen as normal Sanses is a rarity these days.”
Being a kid was a rarity too. So she liked giving them that at least. If she had a role to play she wished it was that. But she wasn't so naive as to hope. When Nightmare left, they were no longer invited. Amelia knew why of course. Everything for his brother's sake.
This is for @marble-birdie a gift for your amazing art. I took a few liberties lol
Amelia and Statue Dream
Amelia liked spending time around Dreams as stones. They were eager for a coversation of any kind. Memories are way more complex people give them credit for. The past counts in frames and is even shorter than that. A conversation is in the past. Normally it would make conversations a slug or even torturous. Being able to hear what they thought and exactly they show a word over an other. But Dreams cast into stones only thought and no one else was here to muddy the conversation.
“So my brother is okay?” Dream's memories were so trusting and in need. She already had a good overview of his history. Tree, duty, dream, nightmare, village, apple, bye bye tree. Most of it is tied to this sort of origin. Some changed of course but it was easier to focus on the big line. She didn't want to dissociate.
Amelia finished the piece of cake in her mouth. It felt wrong to eat the cake though. She wasn't going to let it decay but still. “Yeah, and he seems to be the good boss kind. If Horror was able to test new flavors with food like this. That means he feels comfortable. Also the fact your brother keeps coming here every birthday. It means he doesn't blame you. So yeah, your brother is okay.” The cake was also pretty good, made to last, well she imagined so, everyone remembers eating something. She also wasn't sure that in this multiverse Horror was still the cook. But looking for specifics would make it worse.
“Are his new friends good?”
Amelia nodded. “Yup, a bit unhinged but not dangerous to your brother.” She didn't really want to focus on others yet. They aren't as unique or by the numbers. “I am sure you would enjoy seeing them.”
Amelia cleaned some of nature's normal happenstance. Even if this place was safe, moss and birds still exist. "Aren't you bored, doing this every day?"
“I just feel calm. I get overwhelmed easily. And this place is super peaceful.” Amelia had learned along the years that she is quite good around little kids. She didn't know why but she was able to meet them halfway.
“So I am not being a bother, I can wait, you know!” Jeez of all the things Dreams would become, it had to be self-sacrificial. But meh she got practice.
“Nah, I am a wittle 10 year old, I need supervision.” Amelia made sure to have a baby voice as she relaxed herself against the statue. She wished she could have adult supervision sometimes. Mama Dogaressa held Amelia in her arms, yesterday was a really bad day. “I am so sorry, you aren't food and you never were. You are a good little kid and a good hunter. You are perfect and never feel bad for running away when I or anyone acts like this.” Amelia shook her head as she held onto Dream's statue even more. Wow that was a new trigger. "Yeah I rather stay here with you."

Telltale Dream, Nightmare and Horror: @marble-birdie
A more fluffy one today @marble-birdie, though I will have to warn you. Amelia does tend to get really really wild. So I hope the dog behavior will be okay.
Morning Hunger
The night had gone rather well. Dream and Amelia slept the entire time in between plants and protective glass. But now that she was awake Amelia was hungry. She didn't like waking up with an empty stomach. Since her memories plagued her in the world of dreams too, she was using a lot of mental energy.
Which became worse as everyone other than Dream was talking about breakfast. Nightmare had mentioned it at first to entice the two kids to come. It was even worse since she couldn't wear her scarf normally. She still had to hide it. Amelia didn't run straight to the kitchen only because Dream was holding on to her. She wasn't going to break his arm just to eat something.
At the table nothing she could eat was there. She was so hungry though, memories of plates circled her mind as she tried to think of anything else. Killer and Dust went on the other side of the table. Talking about things that weren't food. Nightmare was reading something that she wasn't allowed to eat. Near the stump she would have already eaten something by now.
Dream went to his brother's side whispering in his ear canal. Memories that weren't edible were promptly ignored. When Dream sat back down, Nightmare teleported away. Technically she could eat the chair, wood hurt teeth but it wasn't that bad right? Dream held her hand to calm her down. But she was just so hungry.
Nightmare came back with a hand on Amelia's shoulder holding a plate with a Tightbone stake. Amelia stared so hard as Dream held her hand with a bit more first. “Amelia, I need you to behave okay. You get to eat like you normally would with this only. But when it's time for breakfast you don't act up. Am I clear?” Amelia nodded slowly; she wasn't going to let that meat get away from her. He placed the food down as Dream let go.
To Dust and Killer shock Amelia grabbed the meat with her bare hand and started to tear it apart. It was tough, really though hard to pull with teeth but Amelia would. Each bite she took was swallowed while tearing another piece. At one point Amelia was shaking her head violently. The stupid meat refused to get eaten.
What the angel is that human doing? Dust memories were filled with a sort of awed disgust. Ghost Papyrus's own hiding behind his hands. He was practically out of his own chair by now.
Killer was just tensed, his elbow making a perfect straight line. Dog, rabid, really rabid dog. Are my cats in danger?
Amelia didn't stop attacking the meat until only the bone was left. She wasn't the type to waste food as she broke her teeth to eat and swallow the marrow inside. Her mouth burst into flames but she didn't care. Meat sauce and juice were still left so she licked it clean. Well until Nightmare took the plate away from her. Some food could have gone in between. “I need the plate Amelia. Anyway, are you going to behave now?”
Amelia's sense of self slowly returned as she swallowed the rest of the food. That was so embarrassing. She looked at her fingers stained with sauce and meat as she clenched the ends of her hoodie. “I'm sorry.”
Killer started to laugh until Dust stabbed the gap in between his fingers with a bone. “Don't!”
A laugh broke through, Dream was swinging his legs on the chair as golden tears left his eye sockets. "It surprised me too at first. But I am so happy to have a friend and now I can have more. I wonder if everyone is going to surprise me too.”
Nightmare smiled as Horror finally arrived with all the pancakes and fruits. They all ate calmly while talking. Horror had actually sat down next to Amelia which felt nice. Dream was happily listening to everyone talk, sometimes asking more specific questions. Amelia sometimes translated what Ghost Papyrus wanted to express. It felt so good for a while.
At one point Amelia and Dream would go to the library.
