PROJECT PROPOSAL

Title: ENERGY REDUCTION CONSUMPTION – ERC Soft.App

Objectives:

1.    To acknowledge the application of power system, energy conservation and electromagnetic by means of Information Technology.

2.    To calculate and identify the specific condition of the requested values and other factors of the energy reduction.

3.    To use engineering formulas that will be translated to codes used in information technology based in the type of language being utilized.

4.    To help and inform people by saving energy through clean and green conservation in this generation.

Motivation:

1.    In order to support the REDUFOIL Research in convenience of calculations for specific values.

2.    In order to recap and master the formulas be used in the app and to meet the unique codes used by a specific language by the IT.

3.    In order to decipher the wide scope of the information technology with the knowledge of engineering.

4.    In order to realize the beauty and purpose of electrical engineering and information technology.

Overview

Energy Reduction Consumption or so called ERC is a software application that manages to calculate the specific values and identifies types of conditions in getting the energy reduction of an appliance that has been energized or has been fed on the circuit.

The application entitles to inform the consumer, user or the researcher for their appliance used by practicing the REDUFOIL method. The following will be calculated by the application:

1.    Energy efficiency, it is the measure of the minimized losses, the ratio between output and input of energy in household appliances.

2.    Amount of energy reduction, the process of lowering down the value of energy in terms of kilowatt-hours. It can be identified by calculating the difference of the month energy consumption of the appliance in control group and the monthly energy consumption of the experimental group to have the conserved energy in month.

3.    Percentage reduction, it is a method to easily understand on how would the consumer or the user realize the amount of energy reduction and its energy efficiency of the appliance/s.

4.    Electromagnetic shielding, the phenomenon in which a certain material covers or impedes the electromagnetic flux of a current-carrying conductor. It can be solve through calculating the Total time of appliance by monthly usage multiplies to a 0.1KWH all over the measured time used of the experimentation or appliance equals to monthly energy consumption of the experimental group

5.    Monthly savings, It can be identified by Monthly savings = Conserved Energy per in a Month multiplied to Davao light’s current charge per Kwh

The following are the variables of the case:

·         Voltage, the electric pressure that causes the electrons to move through a conductor wire.

·         Ampacity, used in measuring the strength of an electric current.

·         Wattage, the rate or measure of power used to consume.

·         Time Hours of Usage, the period where the experimentation is conducted.

·         Length of wire plug, it is used to get the required aluminum foil to coil and to get the resistivity in the wire for a specific appliance.

·         No. of turns of AluFoil on the wire, to know how much electromagnetic shielding would be available in the wire.

In terms of condition of the Energy efficiency and the percentage reduction, it can be categorize in three notifications:

·         Excellent – it means that it gets the right percentage of energy reduction of the appliance as it is fed in the circuit and the energy produced is efficient.

·         Good – it means that the percentage of energy reduction is just hitting below normal rate maybe because of some factors that are affecting the variables on some conditions. The Energy efficiency is not in 1 percent with the same reason of the variable conditions, it would also be considered the quality of the appliance being used.

·         Fair – it is a precaution that the appliance being fed would be damaged or may not producing good quality. It would also notify that the application is not a good energy saving for the appliance so that it need some repair. It would also understood that the user will not be satisfied on its production where the energy is not efficient and it will waist and consume time.
