who do we think is more well-versed in memes, hermes or apollo? because memes are used to communicate (ie, hermes), but they are also very often drawn from art sources such as movies, tv shows, etc (ie, apollo).

fun extra thought for a revolution scenario: apollo and hermes using memes as a code, because it's not like many of their fellows pay that much attention to mortal internet jokes, and zeus definitely doesn't.

hermes. definitely. memes are by definition not really about art but about all about those rapid fire connections and pretty much an independent communication system. that it's derived from art just makes it more of an hermes thing

and lmao I can definitely see them communicating in memes but only like,, in an extreme situation in a hurry as improvisation not as a planned thing. I'm sure hermes has a lot of 5d codes that are not like,, understandable with just a bit of research. it only takes one internet literate nymph or minor god or whatever on zeus' side to wreck this whole operation and considering how chronically online olympus is I'm sure there are many. I just don't think they would take that risk

basically I'd picture the scene as them urgently having to communicate in front of zeus without him noticing like zeus capturing apollo and the whole thing seeming to be a game over and hermes, still on zeus' side, feeling every atom of his body protest in how much he does not want this, does what he does best and finally just acts in his impulses and lives in the present
