to bring some variety to ur faq do u happen to have thoughts on sansa x cersei bc EYE think shes the superior queen to ship sansa w🎤
YES omg, Cersei's sooooo obsessed with her, even though Margaery is The Queen On Hand, Cersei is just as fixated on Sansa clearly as the ymbq as she is on Margaery. She's terrified Sansa might slip through the cracks. I really think it's partially because she feels betrayed by Sansa in a way she doesn't by Margaery. She feels like, well i treated Sansa so well and this is what she did to me.
The queen bristled. "I most certainly have not forgotten that little she-wolf." She refused to say the girl's name. "I ought to have shown her to the black cells as the daughter of a traitor, but instead I made her part of mine own household. She shared my hearth and hall, played with my own children. I fed her, dressed her, tried to make her a little less ignorant about the world, and how did she repay me for my kindness? She helped murder my son."
Cersei did not care to think about Senelle. She repaid my kindness with betrayal. Sansa Stark had done the same. So had Melara Hetherspoon and fat Jeyne Farman when the three of them were girls.Â
Like, the same as Cersei feels Joanna's insane "tears are a woman's weapon" comment was great advice, she really thinks this was her being a fantastic companion to Sansa-
"Wait until you birth a child, Sansa. A woman's life is nine parts mess to one part magic, you'll learn that soon enough . . . and the parts that look like magic often turn out to be messiest of all."
"Sansa, permit me to share a bit of womanly wisdom with you on this very special day. Love is poison. A sweet poison, yes, but it will kill you all the same."
She's like...almost a female Sandor in that way, like dynamic wise, that she feels she's preparing Sansa for the real world and not contributing to Sansa's drive to get the fuck out. That "nine parts mess to one part magic" is so romantic it's like....idk she almost wants to comfort Sansa by saying some things can be a bit magical they're also just so much more complicated than you'd expect. It's kind of like with Taena too - Cersei just really wants cronies. She wants people who think like her and defer to her but who also love her. She wants Sansa to be smart, she wants Sansa to be on her side.
And Sansa....this is her first chapter in ACOK-
Sansa always felt safer when Cersei was there to restrain her son.
And Cersei even points out that being married to Joffrey will be difficult - but the same as JOffrey is very dismissive of Robert abusing Cersei despite his love for them both, Cersei is very dismissive of Joffrey abusing Sansa. Oh Cersei can kill her husband who terrorized her but when Sansa does the same it's a huge problem. It's there again - Cersei wants love without question. When Sansa shows up in AGOT, she gives that to Cersei! And throughout ACOK and ASOS she's forced to give that to Cersei and Cersei loves it. She's dying to groom that girl lmao and a Sansa who didn't watch Ned's head get chopped was completely, innocently, with no knowledge of the trap she's stepping into, ready to get groomed into being her lil secret.
