Since I've already decided that Sid is basically Macavity, my headcanon is now that Sid cheats at card games. Not because he needs the money, and he doesn't do it very often (not anymore), but because he finds the idea of games of chance rather uncomfortable and likes to prove to himself that he can beat them. He's pretty good at it, too. Not a professional gambler, of course, but good enough. ^^
