#it’s garbage

Anyone ever had to use Spark Hire to apply for a job? If you haven’t, here’s the heads up that it’s the goddamn fcking worst. You have to sit there and video record yourself answering questions that appear on the screen like you’re talking back to a PowerPoint presentation. The organization I’m applying to allows me to do unlimited takes, but it’s not helping. I don’t want to watch myself talk to a webcam for six questions. It’s impersonal and off-putting, and will in no way result in me making the kind of impression I’m capable of in-person or even over a video call. I hate this and am considering pulling my application. Who thinks this platform or format is a good idea? Why would you subject someone to this unless you’re an asshole? I already work for an asshole. I’m not moving to a different state to work for a new and different one. HAAAATTTTE. 🤬
