PRO TUMBLR TIP:
If seeing a ship (say, for example, an RPF ship) in a tag upsets you, the easiest way to solve the problem is to block the people who post it. Just block them! Tumblr has a block function for a reason. I block people all the time, and my tumblr experience is much improved by it.
The easiest way to not solve the problem is to angrily berate those people and make public posts telling them they are bad human beings and that they should feel bad for what they are doing. This is not going to cause them to have a sudden Great Awakening; if anything, it's just going to make them feel persecuted and defensive and they're going to Do The Thing even harder than before, because that's just how humans work.
I don't post or reblog RPF, but I guess I just understand that it's a thing that is going to happen because it has pretty much always happened. People are going to fantasize about other people. Some people are going to put those fantasies into writing. As long as those fantasies remain fantasies, they are largely harmless. RPF is older than you are. It's older than I am. You will not stop it. The only thing you can do is ignore it, and tumblr has a built-in function that helps you do that. It's one of the few legitimately helpful and functional features tumblr has; why not use it?
