I think the homestuck pilot did really well for what it was trying to do, that said, I hate the title card joke with every fiber of my being
#homestuck#like inalready thought it was interesting to show wv so early instead of making it a reveal#but thats fine#but the whole title card thing? its weird to say this about homestuck of all things but...#it lacked sincerity#like john has a sadness to him that you see for the first time in the title card#and that colours so much about the characters and how they deal.with the end of the world#and instead they made it a marvel level “lol isnt this trope played out” joke#in character yet disappointing#that said: loved a lot of the rest of the characterisatiin (especially jade) and the animation is great#fables rambles
