“Yes?” “Hmh… only if everyone else was here, as well as the shelter, and I don’t think Sulani would work very well for that, shelter at least.” “I guess that’s true.. Where would you like to live?” “You want to move from Glimmerbrook?” “I want to live where you live, but you know, you can probably live somewhere else.” “Hmh… well my dads showed me pictures of their first home together in Brindleton Bay.. it looked pretty nice.” “Oh… River mentioned that place as the place they got a lot off their strays from.. So I guess if we moved the shelter too?”
Hayden looked at Vy, wondering where this talk came from.Â
“Why do you want to move?” “Eh… “ “Oh no, tell me?” “Glimmerbrook is always winter.. I miss spring, summer and autumn!”
Hayden chuckles, realizing he has pretty much only known summer or winter. Sulani, even when it was winter, was warmer than most places in summer, and in Glimmerbrook it was always winter.Â
“I never had spring, or Autumn actually.” “You haven’t?”
“No, in Sulani it’s always summer warm, but in Glimmerbrook as you know it’s always winter, so I never really lived somewhere like that.” “But this Brindleton has them all?” “Yes, my dads said it had all the seasons, and was still close to the ocean.” “So nice for you mermen too?” “Yeah.”
Vy took the large piece of cake and a small tea spoon, taking a bite, making cute noises as he enjoyed every layer of the flavor, then holding out a taste for Hayden, who had moved a bit and rested on the ground head in his lap.Â
“So you want to though?” “I don’t really know, as long as I am with you and close to the others, I think that’s all I need to be happy, it doesn’t really matter where that is.”
Vy smiles, shining a bright pink when he looks at Hayden. He knew Hayden was very close with his family and over time he had become too, so living close to them sounded good to him too, that way he always had someone close if he had to go to work, and Hayden had a day when he needed the company.Â
