I guess it is the nature of the beast. Whenever a profit can be made by converting a public asset into a private one, the knives are out. The reasons for net neutrality are so obvious and so important, it should not be necessary for me to repeat them here. I don't know how long I'll have internet. Maybe I'll get to post something I actually want to post later... For now, a friendly warning: Stay away from Frontier Communications.

Their service is unreliable. We've gone through their modems in our office like socks. They finally gave us a "business grade" modem, which proved to be much, much better. However, a powerful modem is not a guarantee of reliable internet service.

Case in point: This morning I lost service for almost four hours. I called Frontier customer service after power cycling the modem a few times and not getting anywhere. Rather, I tried to call both their regular line and their tech support line several times, but I never got through to anyone. They kept disconnecting me. So, since they could not be bothered to pick up the phone for me this morning, I thought I'd write this to let others know that if they have any other option for high speed internet, they should take it.
