“Watch it!” Sasuke jumped down in front of Edgar and slashed at a strange creature with his blade. If the shinobi hadn’t acted when he did the man would’ve been tackled to the ground and mauled by the beast.
The creature itself was a snarling menace; it almost resembled a canine...but not quite. The snout was much too long, teeth much too gnarled. Eyes glazed over white, there was nothing there but a soulless husk of some kind. Even the denizens of the Mist Wood had some kind of discernible spirit energy. But Sasuke couldn’t detect anything like that from this creature. It seemed like this beast lacked any sentience beyond it’s fighting capabilities.
As Sasuke forced the beast back, he noticed Edgar was giving him a strange look. Had he not seen the creature? Why was he just standing there? Ah, well he couldn’t focus on Edgar too much. He had to concentrate on the beast in front of him or he ran the risk of having his face torn off.
