真 SHIN（Truth）

While there are various styles of shooting, the archer's draw, aim, and release must be performed correctly within his style of shooting. The bow and arrow must also be correct for the archer.

善 ZEN（Goodness)

Zen requires one to always stay calm and not lose his composure. The archer seeks sophistication, introspection, peace and equality. He pursues association, bonding and peace with others while maintaining serenity at all times.

美 BI（Beauty)

Shooting a bow correctly and with composure is exquisitely beautiful in its shape and harmony of movement. Placing an arrow on target is a beautiful outcome... the product of Shin and Zen.

When action is based in Shin, with the purpose of Zen, then it has a dignity and quality of appearance that is appealing and beautiful to observe. This is the expression of bi.

Takeaways:

Not prepared to run on the snow. Slipping all over the place.

Equipment failure. LooseSomehow during my hike up Olympus, my rest had come loose. Not sure how I was even able to hit the target.How can I make sure that doesn’t happen again - especially on a hunt? At a minimum, I should definitely carry an allen wrench with me.

Too close for growth. Really in need of a way to practice at longer distances. A rangefinder would be nice… but even 50 yards of rope would do wouldn’t it?
