The MC is the best of both worlds 😎 The Vinia family would understand why the MC would feel this way, especially Belahm. But Salyra will still have a hard time understanding this and will try to make contact with the MC - but that's based on how Salyra's relationship is with the MC by the end of the game. You won't see this play out so feel free to imagine how you think they'd react.

And of course, the song is now stuck in my head - just imagine this being the MC switching from Cyre to Ishari and then back again.

That aside, I have realized something interesting. My MC have never ressented Salyra or anyone else in the family, and by extension I don't resent them either. But I have noticed I'm increasingly annoyed by Ishari in general? Somehow, the people there feel even more judgmental than the people in Cyre to me - or well, at least the ways in which they judge the MC annoy me as hell. The way they start by only judging them by their blood, some of them being angry that they are loyal to Irus, other considering they don't belong in Ishari, depending on what side of their heritage they focus on. And then a lot of them changed their tune when they learned they are Salyra's child. And then yet again with the blessings. They sort of feel so self assured in their assesments based on criteria totally unrelated to who a person truly is that they don't even bother to look past that, even after a while. Now, my MC doesn't really notice this actively, and simply misses Vinia. But as a reader, I perceive it that way and it frustrates me. Not in a bad way, eh! I still enjoy the story just as much. I just noticed what bothers me in Ishari.

The family drama is my favourite thing to write. So much emotional angst is good for the writer's soul 😂 I'm glad you're so attached to Rana! Though she hasn't had her time to shine as yet, she's one of the characters I have a fond spot for.

I don't go into great detail with the clothing, because I'd rather players imagine the varying types of robes in their own way 😅

That said, Cyre has a lot of variety in their clothing. The wealthy have better access to more dyes so they wear brighter coloured clothes, usually in cooler colours like blues, greens and varying shades of greys to black.

The poorer will have undyed clothes or simple tunics and woollen, scratchy clothes that are brown, white or stained with dirt 😅

Cyre attire includes robes, tunics, trousers, dresses, coats, skirts and capes.

Ishari colours usually stick to turquoise, rich blues, reds and gold. You'll find a wider variety of dyed clothing and more cotton material used so the clothes are often better quality even for the poorer. Because Ishari is warmer than Cyre, the clothing is often loose-fitting or shorter with no sleeves or more exposed skin. There's also a lot of heavy jewellery and accessories that most people wear.

For now, not at the moment. There's zero time (as always) for our poor MC to start debating the types of people in Ishari and Cyre and noting their similarities 😅 it might come up later, but for chaoter 6, as it stands, it's not an option.

I'm quite bad at describing regions on a map - but they're all one land mass. Cyre and Ishari used to be one region, but after Cyre and Ishari split, Cyre retained around 80% of the region and Ishari was reduced to around 20% of the region.

Before this, it was more of a 60/40% ratio with Cyre holding around 60% of the land.

Vinia is nearly as large as Cyre, but more clustered since there's quite a few mountains in specific cities.

Good question! 😊 Each age lasts roughly 4000 years, so the hatred is fairly new - think the last 25-30 years or so. It started with Erlan, officially - you can learn more depending on a certain choice in Chapter 2 which will give the player to learn more lore regarding the leaders in an interlude section added in Chapter 3. I'll answer under the cut for possible spoilers 😊
