Okay, so whoever followed this blog for my art, you might wanna go to this other one that I started purely to keep my content separated from the rest of the stuff

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE EDITING. This took over FOUR FUCKING MONTHS to make, not overnight, because I evidently I like to procrastinate more than I like being productive.
(I’m working on that, believe me.)
Anyway, like I said on the original post for this, the sketch for ‘Float’ was made last November, and I really, honestly didn’t think that I would ever finish it (mostly because I had drawn it without context or thought as to WHY she was posed like that). The only time I thought about painting her EVER was when I made the skin shading tutorial that I did a while back.
Context came in the miracle of 'oh holy shit I'm getting dragged into another anime series', aka, Wizard Barristers, which you can watch for free on Kissanime. I just really like fantasy stuff, so I painted a sky and added several effects around her and stuff.
I really need to practice making backgrounds though...it's annoying to sketch something like this without any context. Lesson learned, indeed -_-""

Riliane Lucifen d'Autriche, aka what Marie Antoinette looked like to her subjects, personified. (I mean part of it was true but another part was just meh??? history majors please don't kill me)
Anyway. I saw her full name for the first time and then I remembered Marie's nickname ('L'Autrichienne') and I remembered Rococo fashion, which reminded me of the game I made this in......it just snowballed from there. I tried to stick to Rococo style, but I couldn't resist using those big puffy sleeves that surely used a lot of expensive fabric. Also that skirt.
Oh well. At least the outcome of my train of thought was prettier than what actually happened to either woman.
