Recto palang dahil sa Isetann. I dunno why the title is "Replay", because I used to have a theme song with the same name by Zendaya. #LJAblola #recto #isetann #rightofway #marketplace #quezonboulevard #upvargasmuseum (at Jorge B. Vargas Museum, UP Diliman)

10:10 AM
Things that happened on my 18th birthday:
On Tuesdays and Thursdays I always go to school early even though my first subject on my T-TH schedule is at 12 noon. I’m already in UE at 9:40ish am because I like to make tambay in the library, the 2nd, 3rd and the 4th floor. But today I went to UE at 10:45 am because of the goddamned rain, and the long queue. What I realized or learned: Ang hirap palang sumakay ng FX pag umuulan.
While my classmates and I were inside of our classroom, a blockmate of mine taught me a lesson that we had last Thursday in Physics that I couldn’t understand. Then suddenly, another blockmate of mine went inside our classroom and he announced that classes are suspended. My friends and I were gloriously happy, because before he announced that we were making plans that if classes are suspended we will go to SM Megamall so my friend can buy her rubber shoes for PE.
I was half-happy and half-sad about the news.
Instead of going to Megamall, we decided to go to Isetann instead. We had lunch first (actually they had lunch I only had egg pie because I already had my lunch). Then after that my friend bought her rubber shoes and her foot sock.
We went to see a 20-peso retro movie. I forgot the name of the movie. But I can still vividly remember how ugly the movie was. It was a 70’s horror film, and it’s about a genie who killed a lot of people inside a museum. The movie was strictly for 18-year-olds, and I’m proud to say that I legally watched the movie. The film isn’t even that um… scary or… it didn’t even show any strong sexual content. The cinema was fine, except for the bad smell that I couldn’t describe or even understand. The smell was really, very inexplicable. The restroom was surprisingly clean. I usually suspect that malls like Isletann has filthy public restrooms with wet floors and inexistent flush.  Â
I didn’t tell my dad that we went to Isetann. Self-explanatory. And if you know me or my dad please don’t tell him anything. I’m serious; don’t tell him anything that you have just read.
Someone texted me. The content of the SMS was very weird, it said: “Pde ka bukas ng 4? Linisan n kta?” I ignored the SMS because I thought it was just some pervert. Then when I got home he texted me again, and he asked, “Pwede ka b bkas?” This time I replied, “Who u?” It was actually a student-dentist named Reggie that will clean my teeth tomorrow. I’m so excited for tomorrow.
I took a nap. It wasn’t really a nap. I just laid there in my bed with my eyes closed. After taking a fake nap I continued doing my report about Coordinated Management of Meaning (CMM) for my Communication Theory subject. Luckily, I’m done with it.
When I went downstairs I was very famished. I was happy to see that the dining table was laden with lots of food like spaghetti, cake, lumpia, three lechong manok, and rice. We had pineapple juice for the drinks. I was very happy and contented. But it’s quite saddening that I didn’t get to eat my birthday cake because I was too full to consume another food.
This was really a good day, a memorable day indeed. My birthday was somewhat unconventional, that’s why I think it’s memorable. The most memorable part was the movie part. Because it was the first legal-adult thing that I did. Wow, I can hardly believe that I’m already an adult. I honestly don’t look like one---with my 5’2 and a half height and young-looking face, I don’t look eighteen.
But then again, I’m eighteen. I’m eighteen!
