Her ❝ Imogen ? ❞ sounds more like a question, rather than a means to catch her attention. ❝ How long have you been awake ? ❞ as Tonks keeps speaking, she does not even attempt to hide her surprise from her voice. In fact, the longer she lingers there, in the doorway of the kitchen, the more clear it becomes that she did not expect to see her... or anyone, really, early in the morning as it is !
It is here, then, that Tonks decides it is best to enter the kitchen instead of standing there, and for two reasons. The first is that she can make herself a cup of coffee and calmly enjoy it instead of drinking it in one go because she was in a rush; the second is Imogen herself. It would not do to just leave her alone like this, without checking how she is. Now approaching the table, Tonks takes out one of the chairs just enough to make some space for her bag and then, as said bag drops on it with a dull thud, she asks: ❝ did you sleep at all, last night ? ❞ while placing both hands on the chair's backrest.
