Mas y Manos - La Fiesta Hispana

Each year Los Templos holds a week long festival celebrating the different mixes of Hispanic heritage that makes up the cultural foundation of their city. This allows JT particularly to celebrate the Mexican side of his genealogy.

Growing up he was made to celebrate both his mother and father’s cultures through extra-curriculars and activities, and he grew up learning guitar and singing ranchera (also baile folklórico in high school but he hasn’t brought that into his adult life). He doesn’t play guitar as much as he used to, and he’s a little self-conscious about his voice, which is serviceable but isn’t the best, but something about putting on a traje charro and celebrating at la fiesta makes him feel more confident, honest, and open. Like a star in an old movie.
