                     The conversation hadn’t gone anywhere NEAR how the deputy director had HOPED, and she’s now left with a SLURRY of thoughts rattling around inside her brain. How to proceed from here? 

That train of thought, a SPIRAL, is broken by the sudden almost jarring presence of another that she hadn’t expected. The apparition has her straightening her spine, pulling her shoulders back in an effort to look less DEFEATED.

Things worthwhile ( things that would last, come ash and changing times ) were things that would always take long to build. And always, he drew nearer to his end goal: Lex Luthor, the World Security Council, the unmasking of heroes. ( Beyond that? Emptiness. )
