You were shocked, flattered and in awe. Law was standing up for you and flat out rejecting this woman's advances. You grabbed your wine glass to hide your smile and the heated blush growing on your face. You had hear Law use that tone before whole on duty, towards rude patients or other younger newbies who tried to boss him around or openingly flirt.

It was strange hearing and seeing this side of him outside of work. You won't admit that it sounded sexy.

"Good." He nodded curtly. "Now, leave the bottle and leave us before I call the manager." Law tilted his head, smirking as a hard gleam sparkled in his eyes, shutting the conversation down and waved her off with his free hand.

The blonde jumped as she nodded her head and bowed in apology. "My apologies, sir." She left the bottle and speed walked away.

Law clicked his tongue, sipping his wine as he muttered. "Idiot." Some of the tension left his shoulders.

You lowered your wine glass and snickered, trying to hide your smirk with the back of your hand, but Law noticed. "Damn, Doctor Heart Steeler being all cold and overprotective of me? Talk about making a girl feel special, Law."

Law's lips twitched forming a small smile. "I meant what I said you know." He met your gaze, lowering his glass and reaching for your hand. "My eyes are only on you, Y/n."

To his surprise you curled up closer, nuzzling into his side and resting your head under his chin, "Cold," you mumbled in your sleep and wrapped your arms around his waist.

Law tense as his breath stilled, a gasping hiss and shudder rolled down his spine, his skin bursting into flames and tingling all over.

Gods and the seas, please allow me to remain strong. Law mentally prayed.

Not that he was a man of faith and religion to begin with.

Law believed the stronger survived and the weak perished, the world both on land and seas were cruel, merciless and unforgiving. And yet, even in his most darkest hours in his youth, Corazon saved him and made Law believe in life again.

Once again when Law has almost given up hope. Thinking his fated one might not have been born yet, he found you.

Law turned on his side and pulled back to admire your beauty. He ran the back of his fingers lightly down the apple of your cheek, feeling your warmth and soft breathing underneath his touch. Bringing a lock of your hair to his face, closing his eyes and kissing it, so soft and carried your scent mixing with his and a hint of raspberries and vanilla.

Law opened his eyes, his breath returning to his lungs as a low raspy, rumbling purr left his chest. "I barely know you my mate and you already bewitched me with your charms." He whispered, voice husky. "Such an unfair woman you are." He chuckled, a hint of a smile tugging on his mouth and pressing his forehead against your own. "My Y/n."

He pulled you closer, yanking the blankets higher to cover your body up to your chin and intertwining his fingers with yours. Law rested his head on top his forearm.

He savored being in your presence. Doing nothing more than watching and resting with you by his side.

He couldn't seem to take his eyes off you.

Six weeks. It would take six weeks for broken ribs to heel on their own. Six weeks of caring for his fated female.... Six weeks until mating season for his kind.

After eating dinner, Law washed the dishes as you sat on the couch. You felt torn. You felt guilty letting Law baby you. And yet, it felt nice. Being dotted on. Have the grumpy doctor all to yourself. Peeking into his homelife and off duty hours. It surprised you that he didn't like bread. You suppose everyone has something they don't like or dislike. To say you were more surprised that he actually ate the very thing he said he despised touched you. Your heart pound and skip a beat. Did he know this was one of your comfort foods? Was he truly willing to put aside his discomfort and eat with you, so you wouldn't feel guilty leaving him left out?

If Bepo, Penguin and Shachi saw this they would probably think the world was ending.

Law came out of the kitchen drying his hands with a hand towel. "I need to change your bandages and check on how it's healing."

You nodded your head, uncovered your legs, gripped the edge of the couch and tried to stand, but Law stopped you.

"Here, let me help." Law knelt down onto his knees, placing the med kit beside him as he remained eye contact with you. "May I touch you, Y/n?" His hands hovered, hesitant above your ankle.

Your heart leaped within your chest as your face burned. "Yes." You whispered softly, nodding your head. Watching Law wordlessly reach his hands forward and rolled the baggy, oversized sweatpants upwards until they sat above your bandaged covered knees. You felt his smooth, large warm hands caressing your skin. Dear god, this man and his magic hands were going to drive you insane! His touch was so soft and so smooth, featherily light and strong, you felt your breath hitch and a shudder crawl down your spine.
