Even IF Andrès would stayed with Martín in that unfortunate night in the monastery or came back after a few months or years, what kind of relationship it could be? Even if Andrès is heterosexual AND Martín-sexual.

I don’t say that Andrès is a totally horrible person and Martín is an angel (only in my dreams), but we all saw what a man Andrès could be when he’s angry, disaffected. If he want something or someone, he tries to do everything to get it. So his affection to women is a big deal for the potential relationship with Martin, even if he adore his clever engineer so much. And all that speech about 1%, mitochondria blah blah - we can guessing about all the meanings of it (for example, Andrès was actually telling about his health) but all we got - Andrès was describing how women attract him.

So let’s imagine the situation, where Andrès have decided to be only with Martín for as long as he could. Adventures, trips, rich and marvellous life he always wanted, everything is nice, calm and perfect. Boring. Even if they were still planing to melting gold together in a matter of the last glorious heist, they’ll have to spend a few years to complete the plan. And what’s changing between them two after Martín’s declaration of love? Well, they can kiss now, can sleep together and it diversify Andrès’ life. But after all Andrès would start to feel bored. I want to remind, that this man was married five times and most of this time he had a best friend whose feelings he ignored for years. So he’s quite changeable and emotional about love and relationship.

Alright then, all these years Andrès had a smart talented friend soulmate who’s appeased his soul and some numbers of women who’s satisfied his sexual needs. So I can’t imagine that the man like Andrès could refuse his attraction to women’s body, even if he didn’t love them. He would can be crazy about Martín, about his ability to create, about his caring and soft heart, but once he couldn’t be able to resist the temptation. Maybe this will happen after some trigger like a huge fight with Martín, after which Andrès will need to relax somehow, and he’ll find the only way to lost himself in the warm and beauty of the woman.

Also I think that after this one night stand with some gorgeous but meaningless girl Andrès will be full of regrets, but he would not lie to Martín. He would just say “I am sorry, mi cariño, but you knew everything about my desire in advance”. And Martín would be in so much pain as he can’t even imagine before: he loves Andrès so much, he needs him so badly and appreciate all the attention, so he’ll never leave Andrès and will forgive everything.

Well thanks a lot, Sam Smith, for your “I’m not the only one”, cause I can’t hearing it now without the thoughts of Andrès’ temptations and Martín’s inability to leave his lover.
