i feel like Lime as Mochis human familiar with the black hair look would actually be a pretty funny (ish) au, i imagine the dynamic would be more or less the same but like really leaning into that whole 'loyal knight who has a duty to his royal but still "secretly" has feelings × princess who has a duty to her people but also likes the knight' type deal, like less friendship keeping apart and more duty keeping apary if ya get what i mean
I HAD THOUGHT ABOUT THAT BEFORE !!!!!!!!!!!! when i thought about the question of "since there is a witch of every animal, is there a human-witch? like a witch with a human familiar?? since humans are technically animals???" (eventually i decided against the idea)
i just couldnt get past the uh....the fact that he would still be primarily a cat that could become a human..,..just a girl falling in love with her cat...
also theres a tidbit of lore surrounding the familiars that theyre not actually real animals at all. they take form of animals, but in substance theyre made of pure magic and not at all organic so in that regard it also was a little weird to me?? my brain cant help but think long term like "would a relationship between a human and a being of pure magic work out..." and with that said i like the idea of human lime better!!
