Location: Green Cove Springs Marina. Time: 4pm. Ambient temperature: 94 degrees. Ambient humidity: 100%. Place: below deck of a 1971 Irwin 37. Mission: replace the onboard diesel within two weeks. Day One Summary: Our 45-year old Westerbeke diesel engine is loose and prepped for removal. All mounting bolts are free and all wiring and hoses labeled and disconnected after 4 hours very nasty hot and greasy labor. We couldn't get moved to the work yard so we had no electric, which means we had no AC, not even a bloody fan. I do believe the bosun whistle is summoning us for grog! Notes:job well done.
