Iron Lung mlp oc - Simon is Butcher Root. :3
Bro is NOT being subtle 😭🙏
So since its one of my favorite tropes, of a character(s) in media experiencing rain for the first time. Also i wanted to make this BloodyMary but unfortunately I dont know much about PHM to write Ryland or Erid well enough for it ;-; anyway
I imagine Eden didnt have normal weather cycles, or if it did they were before the Quiet Rapture. After that the weather stayed either sunny like nothing was ever wrong or cloudy. Never storms or rain. The only time Simon could remember hearing thunder was when he was face to face with the creature.
But he knew it wasn't the same.
So imagine one day, when he's out of the ocean, healing and away from where Eden or the COI can reach him, he hears the rumbling in the distance. At first he thinks the beast found him, or he was back in whatever nightmare pocket dimension he entered when he faced it. Then the sky darkens, then he feels it.
One drop, on the tip of his nose. Then another. Then another and another and another until there was a steady, gentle pouring of droplets all over him. And he stood there, staring up, hand outstretched and open, feeling the drops on every part of exposed skin, dampening his hair.
He closes his eyes, and for the first time since he woke up, he felt something bright inside. Small, like a tiny flicker. He felt something wet on his cheeks; if it was the tears or the rain he couldn't tell, nor did he really care.
This was the first time he'd truly believed he was free, that he would eventually be ok.
That he would get to live after this.
