For the record, contrary to what he knew others thought, he did not spend every evening watching Aredhel. When he attended at all, it was usually at Maeglinβs urging, and he spent most of the night sulking and avoiding conversation.
But tonight, she had worn something that made his pulse quicken, more daring than anything he had ever seen her in. He had hardly been able to look away.
βI have no reason to be jealous.β That was not the same as saying he wasnβt jealous. βWe are not...β
His words trailed off as she leaned in, his gaze darting down to admire the low cut of her gown, before her fingers touched his jaw and he looked up again. βBut you are distracting. I did not realise you were so close with... is that one Glorfindel?β

"Hmmβ¦. you really think so? You're welcome to try. Think you can change my mind enough to forget about Thingol calling me a child?"
"Oh, without a doubt. Would you like to hear my reviews? I'm very popular."

It was technically true. It had not been him personally who had stabbed the unfortunate smith. This elf had been a thorn in his side, shooting down many of his plans for the crafting of Rings with the other MΓrdain. So Annatar had found his lover and dripped poison into their ear, convincing them the man was a scoundrel and a cheat. The rest had taken care of itself.
βI do not know.β
That was a lie.
βIs there nothing that can be done for him?β
Β He was staring at the blood with wide ears, and did not seem to care how it seeped over his shoes and the hem of his robe.
Leaves an Aredhel plushie on Thingol throne alongside a Thingol plushie with angy brows. Both plushies have a speech bubble coming out of them saying "Child" from Thingol and "Antique" from Aredhel. A small note is pinned that reads: "to remember me by"
Thingol swept up the dais to the throne, gaze set on the objects placed on his own. He bent down to grasp them up, looking between the two plushies and quirking a brow at the words. "Hmm," he murmured, looking then about the throne room for perhaps a culprit who still lingered in the shadows.
"Ah, how could I have expected less? Childish gift left by one who acts like an elfling," he said with slight smile, for he did not dislike them. He did not find antique to be offensive, for he knew that he was considered such by some, even those of his own realms. Beleg could even be considered antique, if he was not so silly himself.

Glorfindel had accompanied her either as a protector or an additional envoy. Lark didn't care for either. She could've handled this task alone and yet Lord Elrond thought it prudent to send Glorfindel along with her. She suspected that he just wanted a few days of peace and quiet.Β
The party seemed to go on, a celebration of the stars. When she had enough of socializing, Lark discreetly made her move to leave and retire for the night. She had been successful until she stepped down a deserted corridor. Another elf, one of King Thranduil's friends, she believed had stopped her from chatting. He towered over her, and Lark frowned as they exchanged pleasantries. Lark had been polite in her departure, but she felt the drunken elf grab her wrist. Anger flickered in her eyes and she had a half of mind to run her blade through him, but that would only escalate the delicate relationship between realms.Β

In the early Laurelin glow, Maitimo stood in the gardens of Nolofinwe's palace, right under Irisse's windows, just like they had agreed the previous day. Their horses, which he had readied and brought from the stables, awaited nearby, grazing quietly.
Pursing his lips he whistled a trilling melody, imitating the singing of one of Valinor's birds, then waited, looking up to his cousin's window, expecting her to react to they agreed upon signal.
IlmarΓ«. Magpie Maiar.
" magpies are very pretty birds, so i shall take this as a compliment. it is not my fault i naturally gravitate to pretty or shiny things. " beauty was one of her domains after all, and what higher being did not enjoy a proper offering here and there. it made a good incentive to pay just a little bit of extra attention to granting a boon to the requesting party. " don't make a habit of calling me that, though. i'll be terribly displeased. there's plenty of better nicknames than magpie maiar. "
