Of course there’s “common” left in him, and he resents that part of him, which is largely why he’s so fucked up and insecure. He seriously overcompensates. Early on, Lawrence had a bit of disdain for Robert’s less-than-privileged upbringing, too, so I’m sure that didn’t help Rob chill--feeling he had to prove himself to get where he is or w/e. Rob’s not got a healthy view of status/money.
