4, 14, and 16 of the ask game for iris :3
4) how would your character react if they were gifted something handmade?
she would genuinely tear up at the gesture. she would be so grateful but would feel so guilty, because someone wasted their time and energy making something for someone like her. if they knew the kind of person that she was, if they knew the monster lurking beneath the sparkly headbands and knitted sweaters.. they'd be disgusted. she knows they would. that's why she'd refuse to take it at first, but would probably give up and accept it if the other person insisted enough.
14) what thought or memory is your character aching to share with someone but for whatever reason, has never had the chance?
there's nothing she wants more than to confess her feelings to kaz. she's so in love with him that it hurts, but after facing countless rejections, she's terrified of the fallout. she cherishes their friendship more than anything, and is convinced that she'll ruin everything if she tells him how she feels. and besides, she tells herself, he clearly isn't interested; he throws himself at girls and flirts with anything with long hair and a pulse. pretty and shallow.
she was never an option. she knew that. but she's just grateful that he's in her life at all, even if he sees through her. she's used to loving from a distance, and kaz is no different. she knows how to take what she's given.
16) how does your character think that whatever they're going through is going to end?
by finding the one. her knight in shining armor, her prince charming-- the one that will sweep her off her feet and whisk her away like so many stories of princesses in towers and royal chariots. iris is so, so desperate for love because, for her entire life, she was starved of it. she clings to fairy tales, to romance, because she wants a happy ending-- even if she thinks she doesn't deserve it.
what's on your mind?
