Getting on with things? No! You're not nearly done screwing around yet!
You help yourself to another serving of delicious, fattening exposition while you put off doing anything important for another little while.
Your room is littered with IRIDITE STONES. This semi-precious mineral, that looks for all the world like clear quartz and is about as hard as gypsum, is probably the most important thing in your life. As a practitioner of STONESINGING, these stones are integral to your craft. The clue is kind of in the name - you don the IRIDITE AMULET that's currently on your desk, and the two IRIDITE-STUDDED RINGS that are currently... somewhere, and by performing the right gestures and singing the right notes, you can make amazing things happen. The whole reason this art has a college devoted to it is because the songs needed to make the cool stuff happen are alarmingly complex, and don't necessarily follow things like rhythm and melody. This is also why SINGING in your room is a terrible idea - with all the IRIDITE STONES lying around, they start reacting in funny ways, and it generally creates chaos. A demonstration of your prowess will have to wait until you find a less enclosed space.
This stone is also important to you as a GLAISTIG FAUN. You're not just any old faun, you're one of the four rare breeds of faun! Glaistig fauns look physically like the regular Native fauns, but display an aptitude for the CHROMATIC ARTS, the ability to use the LOGIA DYNATIS and a connection to OTHER ASSORTED AVALONIAN ANOMALIES, that usually turns them into WEIRDNESS MAGNETS. However, these abilities hinge on being able to consume IRIDITE with some regularity. You were ten years old before you found out you were a Glaistig, because you were never around any of the stuff. But since joining the College, they've been able to keep you in a steady supply of this unusual mineral nutrient.
Also, it's absolutely delicious.
