Up to 14.5% of the total 10-year lifecycle carbon of a commercial interior. That result helped IQUBX become one of the final three in the Decarbonisation category at the Ras Al Khaimah Energy Innovation Competition.
The timing made it deeply personal. My father passed away on June 12, and our final pitch was scheduled for June 24โthe day of his final rituals. Those ten days became the hardest of my life, but they also gave me clarity about what we've been building for nearly eight years.
For the competition, we finally quantified our impact. A lifecycle assessment of a notional 50,000 sq. ft. Category-A corporate interior over 10 years showed: โข Up to 45.8% reduction in lifecycle carbon across the systems we design. โข Up to 14.5% reduction in the total interior infrastructure carbon footprint. โข 390.6 tCOโe avoided.
The biggest savings didn't come from a greener materialโthey came from designing adaptable systems that eliminate repeated demolition and reconstruction.
That insight led to a simple belief: Desirability-led Lifecycle Decarbonisation. People don't choose sustainable products because they're sustainableโthey choose products that perform better, last longer, and adapt to change. Sustainability becomes the outcome.
The work also expanded our FTE (Financial, Temporal, Environmental) framework into FTEH, adding the Human dimension to every design decision.
Today, IQUBX has 3 patents, 100+ design registrations, and 80+ GreenPro Type 1 Ecolabel-certified products. But the biggest achievement was proving, with measurable data, that better design can deliver meaningful decarbonisation.
Reaching the final three wasn't just recognitionโit was validation of eight years of belief, innovation, and persistence.
