After some time of contemplating on different ideas for personal projects, I have finally made the decision upon a series based on street portraits. Titled ‘Stranger Portraits’
The series will be based upon my strengths of portraiture, whilst incorporating the unknown of random members of the public being the subject, hence the title ‘Stranger Portraits’.
I have done a large amount of research and whilst looking into the different techniques and styles used within street photography, I came across the work of Danny Santos (www.dannyst.com) a photographer based in Singapore. I found myself really drawn to his style of street portraits based upon a similar theme, and decided upon the same approach for my series.
The style (as above) is focused purely upon the individual and their features, shot in a generic format to allow the definitive differences between each subject to shine through.
The image above is a quick test done with my good friend Liam Paul.
