WIPO Finance Pilot Project in Colombia in Colombia Through New MOU
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has partnered with Colombia’s National Planning Department and Banco Itaú to launch an IP Finance Pilot Project. Signed in Bogotá on June 3, 2026, the initiative aims to help businesses use patents, trademarks, and other intellectual property assets as collateral for loans. The project will develop valuation methods, train bank underwriters, and generate data to modernize credit risk assessment practices.
