Embrace diversity. I dismiss the notion when people say, "I don't see color." We should see and celebrate all the colors of the human spectrum. We have pride in our cultural roots. I fully support honoring all backgrounds. This doesn't take away from my stance of #BlackLivesMatter. I'm firmly rooted on this position. Nevertheless, God is love and these feelings should cover all colors. We must have mutual respect for everyone's heritage. My black pride should never be viewed as a stance of hate. To better understand my plight, take the time to learn of my past. History class in schools habitually overlook the contributions of black people in America. Parents, go beyond what's taught in school and teach the children of our rich legacy. It's deeper than slavery, Martin Luther King or President Obama. Add a layer to it and share info with kids of other people's culture too.
