IV!Dream, after the Inverted!Apple Incident, ran away to a destroyed village, near a forest and river, full of fruit and fish. He found a semi-intact house and made it his shelter for four years.
Meanwhile, IV!Nightmare made a deal with IV!Bill and IV!Error 404, so now there's higher technology in the IV!Dreamtale, including a freezer! IV!Nightmare loves it, as it keeps his food COLD LIKE HIS SOUL! HAHAHHAHA!
Fairy lights were also introduced thanks to them, so Dream has those as a light source in his shelter along with candles.
Thanks to having to find his own food, IV!Dream is very knowledgeable about which fruits to pick and how to catch and cook fish. He's not very picky after this!
After a few months, IV!Dream realized he'd be very lonely if he was planning on staying here for a while, so he found a small doll whom he calls Harold. IV!Dream sleeps with Harold along with a faded purple blanket that reminded him of IV!Passive!Nightmare. He's terrified of thunder and lightning, so Harold and the blanket help him a lot with that.
Dream was ok at reading, but wasn't the best at it since the villagers were always messing with him and his books, and when they weren't bullying him, he was with IV!Passive!Nightmare, who he wanted to talk to instead of read, so he never learnt how to read great. In his spare time, he reads and writes to get better at it. He also sometimes colors, reminiscing on the good times.
A little over four years later, IV!Nightmare discovered IV!Dream's hiding place and captured him in the night and brought him back to his base...
