Another petal floated down towards Kagome’s upturned face as she spoke. This time, instead of landing on her nose, it landed gently on the corner of her mouth. The pink of the petal was just a shade lighter than the pink of Kagome’s slightly parted lips and, when Sango raised a hand to brush it away, she couldn’t stop herself from tracing Kagome’s lower lip with her thumb once, twice, three times, lingering long after the petal was gone.
“If you keep looking at me like that,” murmured Kagome, her cheeks flushing the most beautiful shade of pink - so beautiful that it put the pink of the cherry blossoms to shame - that Sango had ever seen. “I’m never going to start studying.”
