“I don’t know about that,” Inunir replied doubtfully. He usually felt Mablung was always right, but this time he wasn’t sure. The mere thought of hurting someone he loved felt like a knife in his heart.

“I could never betray you, for example. Or anyone else... not unless I wasn’t me anymore.”

After twisting his ankle Inunir insisted he could walk back to the caves just fine. There was just a mile left to go, and he toughed it out through worse before. But the smaller elf must’ve done a poor job of masking his discomfort, because the next thing he knew Mablung was lifting him up bridal-style as if he weighed nothing.

Inunir only had one drink. One and a half. Maybe two. It tasted terrible, but the elf was already missing his friend and he wanted to sleep easy tonight. He didn’t know how the conversation with the handsomely rugged man in the tavern went so south — all he knew was that this ‘Halbrand’ had a very strong opinion of Queen Melian for having never met her in his short life.

The little elf was almost certain he hurt himself more than the other in the effort of defending the Maia. The burning and throbbing of his hand brought Inunir back to reality.

“…. I think I’m going to go to my room now.”

Superstitions or views on the occult?

Most prized possession?

Preferred mode of dress and rituals surrounding dress?

Neuroses? Do they recognize them as such?

1. I don’t think Inunir is very superstitious. As an elf I feel like he has a deeper understanding of the earth. I imagine that he’s aware of darker magics like necromancy, etc. and disapproves of those things. He believes in natural, earthly magic that’s used for good — not raising the dead. More than anything Inunir feels pity for trapped/cursed souls, such as the souls in the Dead Marshes & even the Oathbreakers.

2. His most prized possession is the lyre that Amdiron gifted him when he was officially invited to join the court minstrels. It was custom made with floral engravings and paints. Amdiron commissioned it as soon as he met Inunir and began tutoring him; he knew from the start that Inunir had it in him to see this path through.

3. Inunir prefers to dress in lightweight, flowy fabrics. He prefers lighter colors & earth tones — it’s rare to see him dressed in dark clothes. Of course there’s also his flower crowns. He makes a fresh one every week.

The little elf’s eyes widened, pausing in his garden work. Inunir didn’t seem to know how to respond at first, trying to decipher the context of the situation.

“Oh, well- uhm… I don’t know? I think I’m just.. nice to people?”

“Ohh, you’re the brother she was talking about!” Inunir said, the puzzle pieces visibly fitting into place in his head. He didn’t seem to be perturbed by the situation.

“… That makes a lot of sense, actually.”

The little elf giggled, ducking his head to hide his blush.

“Oh, shush. You’ve had one too many drinks tonight.”
