sooooo somethings have changed about #ripkalla

so the second child of the polish royal family

was always just a lil’ bit envious of his older sibling because they’d become the next monarch of poland. not envious enough to damage his relationship with the sibling but enough to make him want to find something for himself.

it became a bit of an obsession, really but more on that later

so he had a pretty quaint childhood, his parents were loving and even if he had to make sure he wasn’t overshadowed by his siblings, he felt content. he was sent to a prestigious boarding school at a pretty young age and spent most of his adolescent years there. 

he convinced his parents to let him do his upper education in germany though, just so that he could get new experiences. he did his bachelour’s and master’s in berlin but during his studies hopped between different german universities, doing some special courses here and there. he would have done a semester in rome or something if he hadn’t been in a hurry to get his diploma.

anyways flash forward to his graduation. he is done with school. he has his degree in macro economics. one problem? what is he supposed to do with it? work at a bank? no, that’s beneath him.

so he did this one year where he didn’t really... do anything ? he just visited his more influential friends, made sure people remembered his name and face. that’s how he met femke the first time. nothing came out of it, i think at that point she was with kristoffer since it was the late 2000s.

he had his romance with elyse that ended a bit earlier than it should have tbh but hey, that’s life. at least they stayed as friends.

he started working more closely with his parents and older sibling, it wasn’t really his passion since it felt like one long favour rather than work. he wasn’t doing the work for himself or because he had passion for it, he was doing it because he wasn’t sure what else to do.

idk then in late 2013 he managed to catch femke’s attention. their relationship evolved pretty quickly because both of them had goals to accomplish and they needed each other to succeed.

samuel definitely didn’t just fancy femke because of her beauty and brains, no, it was the throne she’d inherit eventually that made her so incredibly interesting in his eyes.

with femke’s help he’d have his own thing, separate from his family. as for femke, she needed a husband so it was a match made in heaven. 

honestly the first years of their marriage were pretty terrible, affection who? they had to sell the love story not only to the public but to their families. 

because lbr it’s a sign of psychopathy to marry someone for status.

but anyways, with time they’ve become a team and things are good and he loves her with his whole heart and baby klara is on her way and yeah

BACKSTORY

mariana dropped out of high school to protect her mother when her soldier boyfriend died. she took his place - a way to honour him and keep their safety.

her mother contracted hiv and grew sick. mariana took any jobs she could to keep her alive and to keep the money for medical treatment trickling in.

when she passed away, mariana decided she needed a fresh start. she moved to chicago to find a better life for herself; but history repeats itself and she found familiarity in comfort.
