daniel sharman, cis man, he/him, 35 // jean-baptiste valois, the dauphin of france has just arrived in florence. they’re said to be excited about being in florence. when asked they’re likely to say they’re brave, but the staff says they’re more along the lines of haughty. laughter strained by the burden of kingship, the fleeting touch of a one night lover, and empty, tipped over goblets of wine. ( maric. he/him. 21+. )
jean has perpetual party kid syndrome. he's often seen traipsing about, partying, or speaking to people he'd rather be in bed with. he's not very serious on the surface, but he wants to be eventually.
he feels very nervous around his father, mostly because he wants to impress him, but he knows he won't with his current attitude. he knows he's too old for a party boy lifestyle, but he fears being genuinely serious.
he's also never been in love, a point he’s terribly sad about. he's always wanted to be in love, but he's never had the opportunity. he's slept around and been a bit rambunctious, but he's never genuinely felt a connection to those people.
biography-ish
he’s definitely always been a mama’s boy. as the eldest, he was doted on by his mother and very much confides in her often. it’s not that he’s scared of his father, but he doesn’t want to disappoint him. with his party boy attitude, he’s often disappointing his father anyway, but he likes enjoying himself. drinking and partying gets him out of his head.Â
he’s excited about florence because he knows he’ll be able to see his other noble friends and get silly and let loose with them.
he’s always been a nervous traveler, though; he fell from his horse as a boy. he’s never let himself live it down. so traveling is hard for him, even though he pushes his fear away and rides nonetheless.Â
( trigger warning: illness ) he’s been betrothed once, but she tragically died of consumption before they could even meet. he was upset that she passed, but he didn’t want to marry her since they were betrothed so young, and he feared he wouldn’t fall in love with her. even still, he’s a bit nervous to find someone to be the queen of france alongside him when his father passes.
he loves his family more than anything, though, and he would eagerly lay down his life for all of them. behind that silly exterior, he’s quite serious about the welfare of his siblings and his family.

✧・゚: * ( cis man / he/him / tom cruise ) — welcome to ireyne, [ BAPTISTE DE FONTAINE ] of [ ARELLA ]. when the doom came, you were [ DOOMED ]. at [ THIRTY-TWO ] years of age, your body has changed, and they now  call you [ BLOOD FIEND ]. the act of [ BARRISTER ] suits you;  after all, the whispers always said you were [ CLEVER ] but also [ CRUEL ]. you are [ FOR ] the doom. ( maric / 25 / cst / he/him )
TW: DEATH, MURDER
he was not always cruel. no, the doom made him this way. he was once a young boy, blonde and perfect, living with his parents in his father’s law offices and his mother’s loving arms. he was an only child and adored. his parents doted on him and encouraged him to follow his father’s footsteps, and he did.
in his studies, he met roren carpenter and fell in love with him immediately. they had a storied romance, marrying when they were 27 and 26 (in roren’s case). they lived happily in their home as barristers, the both of them.
then, the doom happened, and baptiste woke first, driven by an insatiable hunger. he roared in pain and in his agonizing hunger, he drained that which was closest to him, his husband.
after he realized what he’d done, he wailed in horror and wept over his lover’s body. after that, he became colder and more cruel until, eventually, all that was baptiste was lost, replaced with the horrendous fiend he had become.
