Resilience = integrity + health.
The resilience of peri-urban landscapes are dependent on the resilience of the surrounding landscapes (urban and rural).
Is this true? Â Â Â First response - no.

Dependent vs Independent
Interdependent vs Intradependent
Cities seem to be dependent upon input to function (Dross is the result- thank you Mr Berger for such a lovely word). But this dependency is intra (within) dependent. i.e. cities are autonomous, independent, functional entities.... (assumption)
Peri-Urban Landscapes thus are also dependent upon input to function, but this dependency is inter (among) dependent. Â i.e. PULs are truly dependent upon the input from within and, moreso, outside its entity to function.
Thus - the above statement is true. But resilience must be examined as it may present subtle conflicts.
