it’s been years lmao but the older i get, the more i appreciate dan and blair’s relationship on gossip girlÂ

just cause as i get older i realize what i want in real life is kinda what dan and blair had. i mean they were actual bestfriends? imo more than blair and serena ever were? they were intellectual equals, they were the only ones who understood each other fully, and when they were with each other there were sides to them that came out that we didn’t really see when they were with the other characters, dan loved blair unconditionally and always put her happiness first regardless of whether her happiness included him, he always saw the good parts about her and always encouraged her to see herself like he did. and all these after years of them hating and judging each other only for them to turn out to be the 2 people who understood each other the MOST like can you believe this shit show had a proper enemies to friends to lovers ship that was several seasons in the making, one that happened very naturally and was very true to the characters. also, freakin blair idolized audrey hepburn and i mean... dan is like the writer in tiffany's and also roman holiday? cmon y'all recognize
and gossip girl honest to god peaked when blair was like 'i told chuck he doesn't have my heart anymore, i realized it belonged to someone else' and they finally got together !!! in season 5 !!! episode 17 !!! the real series finale of gossip girl !!!
like dont @ me bc really, this relationship was the best thing about that show and majority of the audience didnt even recognize it. tragic.
