An intimate session with Jasmin and Alyxx: They were open, honest, and trusting. I was open, safe and listened. You can’t capture intimate photos with strangers (now new friends) without allowing yourself to be vulnerable with them. The energy calls for professionalism, it calls for warmth, it calls for grounding, and most importantly, it calls for safety. To anyone wanting to be photographed in an intimate setting, be sure to set your intention for how you want the shoot to go before, during, and after. And more importantly set. your. boundaries, and communicate them. To photographers, don’t forget that you have a responsibility and are the instrument in which someone’s whole self is being put under a microscope… hold that responsibility with care. Hold it as sacred. Do NOT take advantage of your clients energy that is vulnerably being exchanged with you. I hear it in LA too often that the person getting photographed is unaware they hold the power to say yes or no for how they want to be photographed. Use your voice and speak up when something makes you feel uncomfortable. If your gut is screaming at you to get out of the room. Listen. The photographer should not hold all the power… they should share it. THAT’S what a collaboration is…. Thank you Alyxx and Jasmin for this day. I’m honored and blessed for you both being open and trusting. #kellybalchphoto #lasvegas #intimatesession (at Cosmopolitan Las Vegas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdbnbESvXR5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
