As creative endeavors tend to do, this project has evolved over the past couple months. The time we've spent engaged in thoughtful art and written works we received has shifted our previous conceptions for this journal. In light of our sociopolitical context, we want our project to do its part in highlighting and empowering marginalized stories and voices. As such, we are very excited to be moving forward as Susie Mag -- a creative gathering space for women-identified and non-binary folks. Susie is an intentional departure from the women's magazines of the past, whose scopes were tightly cropped on the lives of white, privileged ladies while systematically excluding other narratives. While keeping themes of inclusion at the forefront of our editorial vision, Susie aims to reclaim the space women's magazines of the past once monopolized by listening to and sharing diverse stories in hopes of bringing those within the margins into the center. + +
