This source is more of a telling about a family’s story about adopting an indigenous child. The family and authors main argument is that it is important to have that adopted child connected with their culture and community.  The main weakness is that this is only one family’s experience which of course would not be representative of the whole population who choose to interracially adopt. Also, this family and adoption took place in Canada, but their experience can most definitely be applicable to an American family, as the mom is from Texas.  On the flip side of this, this is an actual telling from a real family about their experience including the adopted child’s perspective, as they are retelling the adoption that took place in the 1970s.
